The City of Molina de Segura has obtained a grant of 10 million euros, the maximum that was chosen, in the third call for aid from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) to co-finance the Sustainable Urban Development Strategy (EDUSI) ) "Molina de Segura 2020 Avanza Contigo".
The Mayor of Molina de Segura, Esther Clavero Mira, the Councilor for European Projects, Concepción Orenes Hernández, and the European Coordinator of European Projects, Antonio Gomariz Pastor, reported today, Monday, May 7, at a press conference of this grant, the largest of external funds that the City Council of Molina de Segura has ever received before, and of the projects that the Consistory will carry out within the EDUSI until 2023.
The Official State Gazette (BOE) publishes today Monday, May 7, the resolution of the State Secretariat of Budgets and Expenditures, Ministry of Finance and Public Function, which includes the aid granted to the City of Molina de Segura for the co-financing of the projects through the Multiannual Operational Program of Spain.
The full City Council of Molina de Segura, unanimously approved, in November 2017, attend for the third time EDUSI call, and propose a reallocation of projects and budget, after not having been selected in the two previous editions.
On this occasion, a line of action was established that could have a better value, with particular emphasis on those proposals that are related to social inclusion, the fight against poverty and the defense of transparency.
The lines of action established in the Strategy contemplate a contribution of 10 million euros from the European Funds, to which the City Council must provide in the multi-year period, until 2023, a total of 2.5 million euros.
The actions to be carried out are the following:
Improvement of urban public services, through electronic administration and Smart Cities.
700,000 euros.
Sustainable mobility promotion plan.
1,700,000 euros.
Energy rehabilitation plan and renewable energies in public buildings.
2,000,000 euros.
Rehabilitation and promotion of historical, industrial and cultural heritage.
1,000,000 euros.
Program of urban regeneration of old industrial zones and rehabilitation of green areas.
1,600,000 euros.
Development of a center for socio-cultural and educational activities.
1,700,000 euros.
Entrepreneurship plan, social-labor integration and Social Economy.
1,800,000 euros.
Adaptation and reuse of abandoned urban spaces such as recreation, leisure and sports areas.
1,500,000 euros.
Management.
470,000 euros
Communication.
30,000 euros.
The strength of this project lies mainly in four important areas of action:
IMPROVING THE USE AND QUALITY OF ICT, with the strengthening of applications for electronic administration and electronic inclusion.
FAVORING THE STEP TO A LOW CARBON ECONOMY.
Its main line of action is the promotion of sustainable urban mobility.
PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT AND PROMOTE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF RESOURCES.
Actions of conservation and development of the natural and cultural heritage.
Especially what it means to be able to develop improvement actions in industrial zones, which will surely reinforce previous action in the industrial estates of the municipality.
PROMOTE SOCIAL INCLUSION AND THE FIGHT AGAINST POVERTY.
Objective this last one that has been decisive for the granting of the aid since it supposes 50% of the project.
Regarding the physical action on the municipal area, the specific weight of the neighborhoods of Fátima, San Roque and La Ermita, included in the project and where integral actions favoring social inclusion, physical, economic and social of the urban environment.
These actions are compatible with others to be specified in other areas of the municipality.
The Mayor of Molina de Segura, Esther Clavero Mira, commented that with the "Strategy of Sustainable and Integrated Development Molina de Segura 2020 Avanza Contigo", it is intended to establish the bases to achieve a sustainable development, according to the ideas and social demands .
Clavero added that this Strategy is proactive, to face the economic, social, environmental, demographic or climatic challenges of Molina de Segura, challenges that converge with those of Spanish and European municipalism in the global objective of making our cities sustainable spaces of coexistence and development.
The Strategy, pointed out the municipal councilor, is the result of the reflections and proposals by many agents, social and institutional, and, therefore, must be a tool of citizens and organizations of Molina de Segura to leave a new footprint in our city, but this time a sustainable footprint.
