The CEIP Ntra. Sra. De la Consolación participates in the Erasmus + CREATEskills project.

Social learning for STEM in Primary Education with centers in Portugal, Greece and Lithuania.

The Mayor of Molina de Segura, Esther Clavero Mira, and the Councilor for Education, Fuensanta Martínez Jiménez, visited the school today, Tuesday, May 29 to learn about the project.

To be in line with the social and economic demands of today, primary schools must promote the acquisition of 21st century skills and create a highly qualified active population.

In an effort to achieve an answer to this challenge, CREATEskills (Erasmus + Project) aims to develop and implement innovative teaching and learning experiences in primary schools across Europe.

The objective is to establish STEM classrooms (Science - Natural, Technology - Technology, Engineering - Engineering and Mathematics - Mathematics) that contribute to increase the attractiveness of these subjects in primary schools.

CREATEskills will promote the acquisition of skills and abilities;

will be able to innovate the educational practices keeping in mind the digital era in which we live and will update and reinforce the profile of the teacher in Primary Education.

Coordinated by Mentortec (Portugal), the CREATEskills consortium integrates 7 other organizations from Portugal, Spain, Greece and Lithuania:

- University of Murcia;

- Science View Hellenic Association (Greece);

- UAB Mestis Baltic (Lithuania);

- Group of Escolas de Loureiro (Portugal);

- CEIP Ntra. Sra. De la Consolación;

- Chania Directorate of Primary Education (Greece);

- UAB Karalienes Mortos Mokykla (Lithuania).

CREATskills will develop, evaluate and implement:

Methodology for STEM in primary schools, including a toolkit with STEM teaching materials for Primary teachers.

Web platform with Virtual Teacher's Room, a Virtual Resource Library, and a Gallery with home-made activities for students and their families.

The purpose of the project is to develop an innovative STEM learning methodology for Primary Education students.

With it, it is intended:

Improvement of the profile of the teachers thanks to the acquisition of new tools for their work, and consequently, the improvement of their competences.

That the entire educational community (parents, students, teachers, competent authorities) are aware of the importance of science and technology in their daily lives.

Increase the participation of parents and other community members in the school and in the learning activities that take place in it.

The Molinense center develops its part of the project between December 2017 and July 2019. It carries out a review of the literature on the subject and research on the social theory of learning focused on the sciences in Primary Education Guide to a common framework.

As well as the development and documentary research in the field of science and identification of the needs and shortcomings in this regard in primary schools.
