The Hospital de Molina has received the accreditation of Bronze level in the Network of Tobacco Free Health Centers of the Region of Murcia, granted by the European Network ENSH Global, within the framework of the VI Conference on Control and Treatment of Smoking and IV Encuentro of the Network of Tobacco Free Health Centers, held this morning at the Hospital Reina Sofía and organized by the Directorate of Public Health and Addictions of the Ministry of Health of CARM, under the title "Denormalize smoking."

This Accreditation, delivered by the Health Counselor, Manuel Villegas García, and the SMS Manager, Asensio López Santiago, is, in the words of the Director-Manager of the Molina Hospital, Pedro Hernández Jiménez, a recognition of the commitment of the Hospital Center with the smoking cessation: "Achieving this accreditation means that in our hospital we have a high level of implementation of European standards for Smoke Free Hospitals, related to training, smoking cessation, health promotion, etc. In this sense, during 2017, we have treated a significant number of workers and family members in our Smoking Cessation Unit, we have done important work of communication through our social networks, the external and internal media, and our own activities aimed at society as Hospital Week - we have introduced brief advice on medical discharge

e in those patients identified as smokers;

we have drafted a document in coordination with the legal services and the local authorities, in order to notify those patients who have not complied with the anti-smoking law;

etc.".

The Hospital de Molina belongs, since the end of July 2014, to the Network of Tobacco Free Hospitals of the Region of Murcia, integrated in the European Network of Smoke Free Hospitals (ENSH-Global Network for tobacco free health care services), which has developed a "Hospital without Smoke" model based on measures of proven efficacy.

Being a member of this Network implies promoting health, ensuring tobacco-free healthcare and work spaces, providing information on smoking and promoting smoking cessation.
