The Molina de Segura City Council extends the activity Walk through the Cemetery with a new night visit, due to the success achieved (05/06/2018)

The City of Molina de Segura, through the councils of Cemetery and Tourism, in collaboration with the Municipal Archives, extends the Walk through the Cemetery Program with a new night visit, scheduled for Friday, June 15, at 22.00.

The activity consists of a tour of some streets of the Municipal Cemetery of Molina de Segura by the hand of Molino writer Paco López Mengual.

This walk, through its tombs and pantheons, allows you to explore the economic, political and cultural history of the town.

As the writer himself points out, "we can already affirm it: the proposal of the gravediggers of Molina to organize a walk through the cemetery, traversing through its streets the industrial, political and cultural history of the city, while getting to know characters illustrious, anecdotes and funerary customs, has been a success.The citizens have enthusiastically welcomed this peculiar activity and the five scheduled passes have more than covered the places offered, reaching the assistance of some four hundred people ".

"The work done by the councils of Tourism and Cemetery, by the gravediggers and myself, as a driver of the route, developing these walks, has been largely compensated by the degree of satisfaction shown by the people attending the social networks and staff at the end of each session ", explains Paco López Mengual.

A total of 360 people participated in this program, most of them from Molina de Segura (295), although visitors from Murcia, Alguazas, Archena, and Las Torres de Cotillas also attended.

With regard to the way in which the reservation has been made, almost all the routes offered to do it have been used almost equally: 96 seats in person at the Tourist Office;

99 through the telephone;

94 via e-mail;

and 70 through the web www.murciaturistica.es

The new visit of June 15 will attend all the people who wanted to make this night walk and who were on the waiting list.

As pointed out by the councilors of Tourism, Andrés Martínez Cervantes, and Cementerio, José de Haro González, the objective of this activity is to serve as a tourist attraction and value the municipal heritage, enabling the participation of all those who are interested.

At the end of this new visit, there will be 500 people attending, doubling the initial forecasts.
