The City of Molina de Segura, through the Department of Public Road and Services, together with the municipal company SERCOMOSA, conducts a study to analyze the points of containerization for burial.
This study also contemplates the new collection system, a novel system in the Region, since it allows bi-lateral collection, as well as new containers.
According to the Councilor for Public Road, Fuensanta Martínez Jiménez, "this system is much cleaner, quieter, more aesthetic, has less visual impact on public roads, and will reduce the number of containers, as they are larger and Therefore, fewer car parks are eliminated, which is why it is more compatible with accessibility and the environment ".
The study is being carried out on more than 900 points of containerization, with a total of 3,600 containers, of which 64 modules are already underground (each module has three containers).
"With the study what is intended is to have data for decision making regarding the planning to bury containers, and the adaptation of the underground to the new collection system," says Fuensanta Martínez.
The cost of burying with the new system is cheaper, since it does not need hydraulic system or electrical maintenance.
The estimated budget for the start of burials by the City Council for the 2019 budget is 300,000 euros.
