The Mayor of Molina de Segura, Esther Clavero Mira, and the Director of the Business Area of ​​CaixaBank in Molina de Segura, Rosa Ríos Salmerón, visited, today Monday, July 23, the urban colony of CaixaProinfancia in Molina de Segura, in the involving 120 boys and girls.
They were accompanied on the visit by the Councilor for Social Welfare, Ángel Navarro García, the Coordinator of the CEPAIM Foundation Center in Molina de Segura, José Antonio Pagán Sánchez, and the State Coordinator of the Youth and Family Area, Pablo Jaquero Milán.
The urban colonies of CaixaProinfancia are characterized by being an education project that is intensively developed during holiday periods, occupying the school schedule of the participants.
Although the main focus is leisure and recreation activities, sometimes they incorporate regular support activities to carry out school tasks or educational reinforcement, especially when the colonies are long-term.
Overcoming child poverty through comprehensive care
In Molina de Segura, the Cepaim Foundation develops the CaixaProinfancia Program.
During the 2017-18 school year, the program has served 245 children in vulnerable situations, through the promotion of the following grants:
Psychotherapeutic care: punctual, personal and family counseling.
Educational reinforcement: assisted study (ratio of 3 to 5 children for each educator) and school team support.
Non-formal education and free time: open center (during the school year), camps and camps (both in summer).
Spaces for working with the family: maternal and child workshop, family educational workshops Learning together, growing up as a family and, the next year, integrating into the portfolio of services a comprehensive care workshop for women and their children victims of violence.
For this workshop, training places have been offered to Social Services of Molina de Segura.
Child feeding aids, child hygiene and glasses / hearing aids.
Since the last academic year, CaixaProinfancia has been working with Social Services, educational centers and health centers to develop the structure of the Children's Committee, in which cases are analyzed and families are incorporated / monitored in the Program.
In this way it is achieved that the network work benefits the minors and their families in the municipality in a participative and effective way, giving it shape and improving the existing coordination.
Socio-educational promotion
CaixaProinfancia is the program of the Obra Social la Caixa, which seeks to break the line of transmission of poverty from parents to children and promote equal opportunities.
The program is aimed at children in situations of economic poverty and social vulnerability, in order to promote and support their development in an integral manner, favoring and supporting policies to improve equity and social cohesion.
One of the fundamental objectives of CaixaProinfancia is to guarantee the socio-educational promotion of the child, understanding that this will depend to a large extent on his or her future well-being.
The Obra Social la Caixa also works to help improve the family income, facilitating access to basic goods (food, hygiene products, school equipment, glasses and hearing aids).
