The City of Molina de Segura, through the Department of Public Road, Municipal Works and Infrastructure, carries out a total investment of more than 1,600,000 euros, corresponding to the construction works of the Molina de Segura Fairground located in the El Tapiado polygon, next to El Romeral Municipal Sports Center, as well as an investment of more than 50,000 euros in various actions to improve road safety and the roadway of several El Romeral and El Pino streets.
The Mayor of Molina de Segura, Esther Clavero Mira, and the Councilor for Public Roads, Municipal Works and Infrastructure, Fuensanta Martínez Jiménez, visit the construction site of the Trade Fair Center on Thursday, July 26, at 7:00 p.m. the site of the old company Cartonajes La Huerta (Polígono El Tapiado).

The new Molina de Segura Fairground will be located between José Cremades and La Piña streets, on a 26,183m2 municipal plot, which consisted of a large number of industrial buildings that were demolished, but where there are still visible remains of the old ships, such as screeds and remains of pavements in concrete and terrazzo, concrete walls, buried deposits, etc., various metal remains of beams, pillars, etc., which have been adequately defined in the general demolition plant, due to the need for his withdrawal for the formation of the new platform of the fairground.
The project is divided into 5 phases of execution, and currently the 1st action, Spatial Planning, for the amount of 579,469.00 euros, and the second phase, urban services replenishment, amounting to 206,960.11 euros are being made .
The works began on July 18 and have an expected execution period of 4 months, which is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
In this first and second action is going to perform the conditioning of the plot, for the formation of the main esplanade, which will be paved with asphalt agglomerate, as well as the interior execution of all services associated with the use of the site (supply, sanitation, public lighting, energy supply, etc.).
To this end, it is currently proceeding to the demolition of all the elements and remains of foundations of the old ships existing in the plot, and then, work will begin to provide the services.
The third action, for an amount of 328,000.00 euros, is already in tender for the burial of airlines and the construction of a transformation center for the supply of electricity to the site.
And, shortly, the fourth action, planning and improvement of perimeter road safety, amounting to 500,000.00 euros, will be put out to tender, which will improve the ordering of accesses, road and pedestrian safety in the surroundings of the Fairground.
"As we see the Mayor says, it is a very ambitious investment (more than 1,600,000.00 euros), to obtain a modern fairground, very necessary for Molina de Segura, where you can perform all kinds of performances , directed towards the development and promotion of the industry (such as industrial fairs, exhibitions, etc.), as well as locating, in a fixed venue, concerts and festivals (such as the B Side), which are currently located at El Polideportivo Romeral, a few meters away, but where you can not hold fairs, or important competitions, since it is necessary to protect the lawn, and its use conditions the development of sports activity of the facilities. "
With the losses that are generated in the awards of each of the five phases, already has a sixth project, which will be the provision of service booths, to completely complete the fairground, which will be fully completed by mid-2019. As reported by Esther Clavero, "it is not intended to bring the fair to this site (for now will still be located in Huerto Fayren), but, as the name suggests, the site will be a large area enabled to hold fairs around the potential that Molina de Segura has in the industrial sector ".
