The act of signing the collaboration agreement between the City of Molina de Segura and Cáritas Diocesana de Murcia Cáritas Interparroquial de Molina de Segura for the reception project, basic care and social support for people in situations of serious social exclusion and / or vulnerability has had place today Tuesday, July 31, in the municipality of Molinense.
The Mayor of the town, Esther Clavero Mira, the Secretary General of Cáritas Diocesana, Juan Antonio Illán Frutos, and the Councilor for Social Welfare, Ángel Navarro García, attended.
The agreement includes a municipal subsidy for a total amount of 60,000 euros for this year 2018. The objectives pursued by this agreement are:
To provide people and families in a situation of extreme vulnerability with coverage of basic needs due to material poverty.
Attention to those people who, due to a social emergency situation, urgently need support in food, health, housing, education, transportation and / or personal and family documentation.
According to the Councilor for Social Welfare, "with the signing of this agreement, the financial support of an entity such as Cáritas, with a long track record over time, is being developed, covering the basic needs of the most disadvantaged. families of the municipality in need, groups and people at risk and social exclusion with difficulty accessing resources and standardized services.There is immediate attention when a person in a time of emergency or supervening cause so requires, complementing the action of the Municipal Social Services ".
The beneficiaries of the project are:
People in long-term unemployment, in recent unemployment or from low-skilled jobs that, due to lack of income or being recipients of benefits, can not cover basic needs, and most of them have minors.
Pensioners (with non-contributory pensions or minimum pensions) that do not cover basic basic needs.
Single-parent families, with family responsibilities, generally not shared, and with problems of family and work-life balance.
Mixed coexistence units composed of several generations that can not emancipate their members due to lack of economic income.
People with a history of shelters or life on the street.
The project is part of the program of Urgencia de Cáritas Diocese of Cartagena, which is developed through the reception network of Parish Caritas to serve the most vulnerable population of the municipality, and consists of the following activities:
Reception and Accompaniment Services: support and listening is carried out, the demand is collected, mostly from hygiene products, clothing, footwear, medicines, housing and supplies, food and children's products.
Economic Aid to support maintenance in the habitual residence and access to basic supplies (electricity, water, rent, etc.).
Distribution of food, clothing and hygiene.

Collection, classification and distribution of clothing and footwear, household equipment, toys ...
Welcome and Accompaniment to People in a Homeless Situation, access to showers, food and urban and interurban transport services.
Itineraries of socio-labor insertion for the acquisition of tools and skills that improve the employability of the participants, with accompaniment by volunteers.
Payment of administrative fees for documentation.
Cáritas de Molina de Segura is headquartered in Calle Oriente, n ° 7 (belongs to the Parish of Ntra. Sra. De la Asunción) and has a Social Worker and a Volunteer Team in Social Intervention, in which 21 volunteers work .
