The City of Molina de Segura is carrying out this August the renovation and integral improvement of the general sanitary sewer of the Station Street and all its junctions, from the general collector of the Avenue of the Industry (old National 301) to the Main Street.
This action, with which the wastewater evacuation is considerably improved, is carried out by means of an innovative method that avoids having to make ditches or carry out power cuts to the neighbors of the area.
The Mayor, Esther Clavero Mira, the Councilor of Public Road, Fuensanta Martínez Jiménez, representatives of the COM-PRO merchants association and municipal technicians have recently visited the works.
The work, which involves a municipal investment of 174,094.8 euros, will conclude before the end of the month and also includes the asphalting of the entire Estación Street and the repainting of the horizontal signage.
The Mayor explained that it is an important investment, framed in the project of renovation of the municipal infrastructures, which is financed with the departure of the works of the canon of supply and sanitation.
The municipal councilor added that the collector of the Estación Street was installed more than 40 years ago and "its renovation was essential."
The innovative character of the action lies in the use of a fiberglass sleeve that is introduced into the current collector after having been cleaned using a high pressure water system.
Once inside, an ultraviolet light bulb is applied, which causes the fiberglass to set around the walls of the old pipe, giving rise to a new coating of long durability, and thus ending the possible leaks that may exist.
