The II Molina Ancient Music Festival, MOMUA 2018, extends its programming and is held from November 2 to 18 (17/10/2018)

The II Molina Antigua Music Festival, MOMUA 2018, promoted by the Culture Department of the Molinense City Council and the female vocal group of ancient music DeMusica Ensemble, will take place from November 2 to 18, in the Museum of the Enclave of the Wall (MUDEM) .

The event was presented at a press conference today, Wednesday, October 17, in the municipality of Molinense, by the Mayor of the town, Esther Clavero Mira, the Councilor for Culture, Pedro Jesús Martínez Baños, and the artistic co-director of the festival, María Ángeles Zapata Castillo.

Under the artistic direction of Mª Ángeles Zapata and Lorenzo Cutillas, the MOMUA aims to give a cultural boost to the city and revalue Molina de Segura's historic-artistic heritage through an ancient music festival.

To this end, several concerts, courses and conferences will be held at the MUDEM, taking advantage of the architectural and historical potential of the museum's enclave.

The MUDEM is a museum cultural space created with the aim of protecting and disseminating the remains of the wall of Molina de Segura rescued in 2004, the Andalusian Mulina.

An exciting journey through the history of this typical fortification of Andalusian origin between the 11th and 16th centuries.

The Enclave de la Muralla is an urban space destined to become the cultural epicenter of Molina de Segura, housing the Professional Conservatory of Music, the Historical Archive, an exhibition hall and the MUDEM.

The Virginia Martínez Fernández Auditorium is an ideal place to enjoy this type of music from the XII-XVI centuries, which will evoke the time of the medieval wall of La Molina, which is exhibited in the museum.

Through the sounds of repertoires that go from the 12th century to the end of the 16th century, the beauty of the different locations of the museum will be enhanced, covering each of these spaces with different sounds appropriate to the environment.

The Festival opts for medieval and Renaissance repertoires, and will offer three concerts by the groups: MAGISTER PETRUS, on Saturday, November 3;

PIACERE DEI TRAVERSI, Saturday, November 10;

AXABEBA, on Saturday, November 17, with a concert focused on a repertoire of 3 cultures.

There will also be academic training, consisting of four courses and two conferences.

The first course will be dedicated to medieval percussion, by Professor Mauricio Molina (Barcelona);

medieval singing course, with the teacher Maria Jonas (Germany);

rubbed string instrument course, with Marco Becchetti (Italy);

and a course of plucked string instruments, taught by Professor Aziz Samsaoui (Granada).

The conferences will be in charge of María Jonas and Ana Botella, professor at the University of Valencia.

All activities will be carried out in the MUDEM.
