The Plaza de España of Molina de Segura has hosted, today, Wednesday, October 17, a concentration of condemnation and rejection of the sexist aggression against a neighbor of the town, occurred on the night of Tuesday, October 16, convened by the City Council of location.
The Mayor of Molina de Segura, Esther Clavero Mira, and the rest of councilors and councilors of the Municipal Corporation, as well as the Councilor of Family and Equality of Opportunities of the Region of Murcia, Violante Tomás Olivares, attended.
During the rally, the Mayor has read an institutional declaration.

Institutional declaration against sexist violence of the Molina de Segura City Council
On the night of yesterday, Tuesday, October 16, 2018, we have learned of a macho aggression against a neighbor of our municipality.
The victim is admitted with serious injuries in a hospital in the Region.
Faced with this brutal aggression, the Municipal Corporation of the City of Molina de Segura wants to make public its strong condemnation, its strongest repudiation against violence against women, in any of its manifestations, as well as express our solidarity with the victim and their children .
The public authorities have the obligation to redirect their policies to be truly effective and allocate more resources to act forcefully against sexist violence.
It is intolerable that this social scourge should continue.
The whole society should be aware of the seriousness and extent of the problem that affects us.
Much more than what we are doing because, far from stopping, the spiral of violence grows in our society.
Let's dedicate, all of us, public powers, associations, citizenship, our effort to the eradication of violence against women.
We can not continue tolerating more victims.
We have the obligation to react, to act, to maintain, to increase and to promote effective policies, tending towards the elimination of this type of violence.
From the City of Molina de Segura we call on all citizens, institutions, social agents, associations and collectives to work together in the pursuit of this goal: effective equality and the eradication of sexist violence.
We want to express our support for the work of the women's collectives of the municipality.
Not one more victim.
It is possible that the indignation and the popular outcry end with the opprobrium of the physical, verbal aggressions, with the death and the violence that the women suffer in our society, and that the measures of sensitization, of prevention, of counseling are effective and conclusive and all those that lead to put an end to this drama.
We end up wishing a quick recovery of the victim of this macho aggression.
