The 2nd Ciudad de Molina Intercultural Meeting takes place from November 12 to December 9 (07/11/2018)

The II Intercultural Meeting City of Molina is held in the municipality from November 12 to December 9, promoted by the Department of Culture of the City of Molina de Segura, in collaboration with the Red Cross, CEPAIM, Association Diagram, Platform for the Immigration of Molina de Segura and Ateneo de Molina.

The program was presented at a press conference on Wednesday, November 7, by the Mayor of the town, Esther Clavero Mira, the Councilor for Culture, Pedro Jesus Martinez Baños, and the municipal technician of the Department of Culture, Domingo Hernández García .

Molina de Segura has been and is a town that welcomes people from different parts of the Region of Murcia and other parts of Spain and the world.

People who have moved here looking for a place to work and carry out a life project.

At present, 13.7% of the people registered in Molina de Segura are immigrants, of which 39.1% come from the European Union and 60.9% are non-EU.

This variety of origins brings an enormous cultural richness to the municipality.

This meeting aims to publicize some manifestations of these cultures.

Make them visible to promote the approach and trust between the different human groups that live in Molina de Segura, so that respect and trust between the different people are definitely incorporated into the common heritage of the people of Molin.

The program of activities is as follows:

Monday, November 12, at 6.15 pm, at the Virginia Martínez Fernández Auditorium (MUDEM): workshop Travel and musical instruments of the world, directed by Matías García Martínez, music teacher and musician.

Tasting of Arab tea and sweets.

At 5.30 pm, performance of the Rondalla Social Center for the Elderly of Molina.

November 14 and 21, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., at the MUDEM, Danzas del mundo workshop (belly dance and Polynesian dance).

From November 20 to 23, starting at 4:00 p.m., Intercultural Petanque Championship.

Registration: MUDEM and Social Center for the Elderly, until November 19.

Modality: couples.

Monday December 3, at 7:00 pm, at the Virginia Martínez Fernández Auditorium (MUDEM), inclusive education and interculturality conference, by Juan Manuel Escudero Muñoz, Professor of Didactics and School Organization of the University of Murcia.

Tuesday, December 4, at 8:00 pm, at the Virginia Martínez Fernández Auditorium (MUDEM), round table Municipal policies for interculturality.

Participants: Fulgencio Puche, former Mayor of Molina de Segura and former Director of the Immigration Office;

Safy Dieme (Senegal);

José María Pacheco, from the Immigration Platform of Molina de Segura, and Ángel Navarro García, Councilor for Social Welfare.

Wednesday, December 5, at 7:00 pm, at the Virginia Martínez Fernández Auditorium (MUDEM), cinema The Stone Baobab (documentary with a duration of 80 minutes, in Spanish, with subtitles in French).

Subsequent gathering with the presence of the director (Potyomkin Productions).

Sunday, December 9, from 09:00 to 14:00, at the El Romeral Municipal Sports Center, DAY OF INTERCULTURAL COEXISTENCE.

It is not essential to register, although it is convenient to have, on the part of the organization, a forecast of participants.

SCHEDULE:

09.00 h .: presentation.

09.30 h .: Tai Chi session, contest Traditional games of the world, league futsal (only registered) and painting workshop, by Joaquín Abellán (Chipola).

10.30 am: world dances, sports for children and youth teams, futsal league (only registered) and painting workshop, by Joaquín Abellán (Chipola).

11.30 h .: lunch.

12.00 h .: adult pool, gymkhana, futsal league (only registered) and crafts.

13.00 h .: children's pool, zumba session, futsal league (only registered) and percussion workshop.

14.00 h .: closing and joint photo.

Sunday, December 9th, from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm, with a tour of Plaza Región Murciana, Paseo Rosales, Calle Estación, Calle Mayor and Plaza de España, parades.

Participate, among others: Esperanzas Andinas, Aires de Colombia, Folk Conquests and Ukrainian Association of Murcia.

All people who wish to participate in this event, individually or collectively, can participate.

Sunday 9 December, from 6.30 to 9.15 pm, at the Plaza de España, Intercultural Concert, with the Ensemble Musicantes groups (Las Tres Culturas program, Christian, Jewish and Muslim music), Viajeros del Son (Latin music group), and Kulumba (African music, dance and percussion).

School Painting Contest.

Recipients: students of 1st and 2nd year of ESO of the municipality.

Delivery limit: until 3 pm on Friday, November 30.

Prizes: first prize, tablet for the winner and sports material for the center to which it belongs;

and second prize, ebook.

School Workshops

Educational centers of the locality that request it.

Completion limit: until December 5.
