Activities of information and awareness in the street, and a great event to learn to recycle and become aware of the importance of our collaboration to improve the environment, are the proposals of this campaign that is developed in collaboration with ECOEMBES and SERCOMOSA
The Molina de Segura City Council presents its new selective collection campaign #MolinaRespira, promoted by the Department of the Environment, in collaboration with SERCOMOSA, the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, the Federation of Municipalities of the Region of Murcia and ECOEMBES, with the aim of promoting citizen collaboration in recycling and thus improve air quality.
The initiative was presented at a press conference today, Thursday, November 29, by the Mayor of Molina de Segura, Esther Clavero Mira, and the Councilor for the Environment, Juan Alcaide Quirós.
With #MolinaRespira it is intended to show citizens the benefits of recycling for the environment, reflecting on the importance of small gestures such as selective separation to prevent environmental problems at a local and global level.
With each container that we recycle in the yellow container, we contribute to improve the quality of the air we breathe, since we reduce CO2 emissions, in addition to saving raw materials and energy.
The Molina de Segura City Council continues its commitment to sustainability by improving the data on selective waste collection every day.
Thanks to the collaboration of the citizens, in 2017, 995.5 tons of light containers were deposited in the yellow container, 14.3 kg.
per inhabitant per year, which again places us well above the regional average (10.7 kg./hab./year), also exceeding the national average of 14 kg./hab./year.
According to the Councilor for the Environment, Juan Alcaide Quirós, "this year we are committed to giving more visibility to the awareness-raising actions we develop, taking them to the streets and showing the citizens the importance of small gestures, such as selective separation to prevent environmental problems at a local and global level ".
The proposals presented by this campaign will be developed during the month of December with two informative actions in markets and a large educational event.
The two informative street actions will take place on Saturday, December 1, at the Weekly Market of the Company Park, from 10 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and on Thursday, December 27, at the Christmas Craft Market, at the Plaza de España. , from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
An informative point with ambience will be installed, from which the public will interact with a series of games and dynamics around the correct separation of waste and the relationship between recycling and air quality.
The Molina Respira event will take place on Saturday, December 15, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, at the Plaza de la Región Murciana and Paseo Rosales.
Molina Respira consists of different spaces and interactive and animation activities that aim to raise awareness through participation.
Games of recycling, pintacaras, workshop of instruments with recycled materials, photo booth, home garden workshop and a concert with musical instruments made from recycled materials, and more activities for a family day where recycling will be a great protagonist.
The campaign will be present on the street through the placement of mupis and posters, also on radio and social networks.
In addition to actions aimed at the general public, the campaign includes an offer of environmental education activities aimed at citizen associations with which they want to deepen in messages such as the reduction of CO2 emissions, in addition to the savings in raw materials and energy that supposes recycling and the importance of making a proper separation of the waste and depositing it in their respective selective collection containers.
