The Molina de Segura City Council has organized two new environmental activities on the occasion of World Wetlands Day at the Information and Welcome Center for Visitors of Las Lagunas de Campotéjar Salar Gordo on Sunday, February 3.
The center opens its doors on the first and third Sunday of each month from 10:00 to 14:00 hours, and offers information on the ecological and landscape values ​​of Las Lagunas de Campotéjar Salar Gordo.
At 10.30 a guided tour of Las Lagunas de Campotéjar will take place to learn about the values ​​of this wetland of community importance.
In addition, you can observe the birds and know other values ​​of space.
During the tour, participants can make observations with telescope and binoculars.
After the route, at 12:30 a water experiments workshop will be developed, in which the value of this resource and its importance for the conservation of waterfowl will be learned in a dynamic and fun way.
The activity is focused on all audiences.
Participation is free and it is not necessary to make prior registration, except for groups of more than 10 people.
It is recommended to bring water, hat, sunscreen and comfortable clothes and shoes.
Molina de Segura has a catalog of 15 wetlands distributed throughout the municipal area of ​​significant importance, which have their own biodiversity, given their characteristics, especially due to the existence of surface or underground water and the salinity of their soils.
This is the case of the wetland of the Fuente del Setenil, the Charca de Los Tarays, the Fuente del Chorrico, the Poza, the Rambla Salada, among others.
Especially important is the Lagunas de Campotéjar on this Wetlands Day, as it is an area included in the Natura 2000 Network, protected by the European Union.
