The Municipal Program against School Harassment, promoted by the Department of Education of the Molina de Segura City Council, has been publicly presented today, Tuesday, February 5, in the Municipal Plenary Hall.
The Mayor of Molina de Segura, Esther Clavero Mira, the Councilor for Education, Fuensanta Martínez Jiménez, the Councilor for Citizen Participation, Pedro Jesús Martínez Baños, the Project Coordinator, Jesús Imperial Cutillas, and the Vice President of the Municipal Health Council de Molina de Segura and Coordinator of the Community Care Group, Mario Soler Torroja.
Bullying is a fact that concerns the citizenship and the educational community of the municipality.
With the aim of providing training in the prevention of it and sensitize the residents of Molina de Segura, the Department of Education has been responsible for designing the development of effective actions within a Municipal Program for the improvement of coexistence among equals, endowed with a budget of 50,000 euros, which the residents of Molina de Segura have earmarked for this purpose through the Participatory Budgeting process.
The Municipal Health Council has participated, along with other actors (parents, teachers, psychologists, associations and technicians of different councils), in the advice for the lines of work of the program.
The Department of Education, with the aim of giving voice and participation to different associations and entities related to work in the prevention of violence behavior in the classrooms and promoting peaceful coexistence in them, has designed the Program in four major areas , which are detailed below:
Conducting an awareness and information campaign.
This area will be carried out by the Community Development Institute (IDC), with actions such as dissemination in the media, preparation of posters and advertising, round tables, celebration of the International Day Against Bullying and the first Conference on Educational Innovation .
Training activities with families.
This area will be developed by the Asociación Maestros Mundi;
Activities such as workshops for families on the approach to bullying and conferences will be carried out.
As a novel aspect, the establishment of a point of information and awareness to families that demand help and advice to families, and finally, a guide for families stands out.
Training activities for teachers and municipal officials.
These activities will be in charge of the University of Murcia.
It will include, among others, a training seminar for teachers, with tools for classroom management and intervention in school conflicts, emotional intelligence, etc.
In the training section for officials, a training course will be held to detect and intervene in cases of harassment from the municipal level.
Training activities for students, designed to work with students of 5th and 6th year of Primary Education and Compulsory Secondary Education and Baccalaureate, which will be in charge of the Murcian Association against School Harassment (AMURCAE).
It will contain tutoring sessions, workshops for students of conflict resolution, school mediation workshops, inclusive courtyards, short film contest, etc.
This association will also hold a contest among the students of the educational centers for the election of logo and slogan that will govern the municipal campaign against bullying.
