Molina de Segura City Council visits Murcia's most evolving companies in recent years (21/02/2019)

The Mayor of Molina de Segura, Esther Clavero Mira, along with the Councilor of Public Road of the City of Molina de Segura, Fuensanta Jiménez Martínez, and the head of the Municipal Office of Companies, Santiago Pastor Palazón, has made an institutional visit to the facilities of the Zukán SLU firm, located on Magallanes Street of La Estrella Industrial Estate.

The group is also formed by the merchants Soltec Energías Renovables SL, Lunia Consultores SL, Aurum Process Technology SL and Agricomex Política Agraria SL, the latter based in Madrid.

It is one of the groups that has recorded the greatest increase in activity, facilities and turnover in the province in recent years, with a turnover of 477 million euros in 2017.

"The City of Molina de Segura has the firm conviction of returning to place the municipality on the map of the main industrial points of southeast Spain, specifying for this a series of measures and applying a rosary of investments aimed at structuring the municipal policy under the economic and industrial optics ", explains the Mayor.

The reason for the visit is to inform the municipal services of management, advice, coordination and control for companies, while establishing a channel of fluid communication between the company and town hall, through actions aimed at business development.

The facilities were also known by the people in charge of Zukán: José Moreno Riquelme, Manager and owner;

Marcos Sáez Nicolás, Executive Director;

Francisco Amorós Pérez, Commercial Director;

and María Lencina, Marketing and Communication Director, informing about all the processes, data and news that are happening in the group.

It has been possible to verify first-hand the large investment that has been made in all the facilities, spread over the three industrial estates, leaving a total area of more than 100,000 m2.

Zukán has become one of the food companies with the highest turnover in the Region, with 296 million euros in 2017 and a staff of close to 150 workers.

It was founded by José Moreno, who comes from the family Molinense saga of Maximino Moreno, opened in 1892, who decides to start his own business career and in 1994 he opens a distributor with the objective of supplying sugar to the Molina de Segura companies.

Twenty-five years later, it is a national reference company, focused on developing and providing sweetening solutions for the second transformation industries, specializing in customized formulas and with a wide portfolio of products that include syrups, reduced calories, fondants, etc.

It is remarkable its apicultural line, for which important national projects have been developed that involve the University of Murcia, specifically the departments of Zoology and Physical Anthropology and Food Technology, Nutrition and Bromatology, and in which have made important contributions to the beekeeping sector at the level of innovation and development.

Currently, the company is developing new lines with the aim of expanding its scope of action and adding value to the food market.

R & D is the brand of the merchant, with several laboratories, a trained and experienced staff, and an impeccable track record in market innovation.

An important project under development is the fruit concentrate clarification line, which aims to develop 100% natural bioactive ingredients from the waste of the fruit.

In this way we would obtain totally natural ingredients with high added value such as sugars, functional polyols, fibers, pectins, antioxidants and aromas.

On the other hand, the materialization of a new base of 12,500 m2 in the Industrial Estate of La Estrella is underway, in which a new semi-finished product manufacturing center will be located.

Zukán intends through this new line to open a new sales channel: that of distributors and retailers.

As for Soltec Energías Renovables SL, it is a company dedicated to the manufacture and installation of solar trackers founded in 2004, and four years later already invoiced 100 million euros.

In 2013, it closed its first agreement with Enel to work in Chile, expanding its presence to other points in Latin America, such as Mexico, Brazil, Argentina or Peru, until it became the leading company in the area.

With delegations in the five continents, it has a staff in Molina de Segura of 250 employees, reaching more than 1,000 globally.

Last year 2018 obtained a turnover of 170 million euros, and for this year it is budgeted the sale of around 3 gigawatts between all the planned solar plants, which would result in a turnover of more than 350 million euros.

Soltec has a promising growth trend, its level of competitiveness, its investment in R & D and its reliable model of technological innovation project it as the second most important operator in the world by 2019.

The group is also formed by Aurum Process Technology SL, based in the La Serreta Industrial Estate, and dedicated to the design of industrial machinery, which has innovative patents within the sector, such as T-Sensation® technology, a revolutionary system of thermal transfer that allows to obtain artisan flavors within an industrial production or the first line of manufacture of hummus in aseptic.

Finally, Lunia Consultores SL, computer and systems consultancy, and Agricomex Política Agraria SL, specialists in foreign trade, complete the group.

Taking advantage of the meeting, they have dealt with issues concerning the projects that the merchant has pending or in execution in its different facilities.

Problems have also been addressed in infrastructures, communications and licenses in process.

In order to continue strengthening ties, specific meetings have been agreed in order to join efforts aimed at enabling the optimal functioning of the merchants, and their potential development within the municipal area, always with due legal guarantees.

The City of Molina de Segura, through its Mayor and its Economic Development Councilor, has wanted to show its "unconditional support to this great group of leading companies, through this visit from which a series of proposals have come from the company, and a list of measures to be applied by the consistory, together with many other future collaborations ".

In the same way, Esther Clavero wants to "show my most heartfelt congratulations to the companies, for their continuous achievements and professional successes, leaving a great flavor of dynamism and vanguard all over the world, always related to the MOLINA brand".
