The City of Molina de Segura, through the Department of Public Road, Municipal Works and Infrastructures, has carried out an investment of 336,846.09 euros in the remodeling and refurbishment works of the Company Park (municipal investment), as well as as another investment of 244,714.00 euros through the Participatory Budgeting process.
The opening ceremony of the works will take place today, Friday, March 1, at 6:00 pm, in the Parque de la Compañía.
Attending the Mayor of the town, Esther Clavero Mira, accompanied by the Councilor for Public Road, Municipal Works and Infrastructure, Fuensanta Martínez Jiménez, and the Councilor for Citizen Participation, Pedro Jesús Martínez Baños.
In the Parque de la Compañía, the renovation activities of the estancia areas, playgrounds and parterres in the lower area of ​​the park have been completed, covering a total area of ​​4,800 m2, where great emphasis has been placed on the improvement of the accessibility.
Previously, the entire lower area of ​​the Company's park was on land, with loose curbs, etc., which impeded the passage, and now, with the remodeling carried out, a large space has been created adapted to people with reduced mobility, with a large area for children's integration games, which can be used by people in wheelchairs.
Three areas of children's games have been differentiated, highlighting the central area for older children, with a large tower-slide, a river of jellybeans, a forest-labyrinth and the chocolate house, which represents an allegory to the story of Hansel and Gretel, based on sweets, because Molina de Segura is one of the main producers nationwide.
The main actions have been:
Improvement and remodeling of the playgrounds (on an area of ​​738 m2), which have been equipped with new playgrounds and safety pavements.
An area with integrated children's games has been created.
Improvement of accessibility of all areas annexed to children's areas and recovery of a large area of ​​stay (3,000 m2), which were on land.
With the action taken, the accessibility between the southern zone and the center of the park is improved and a large area is recovered as a plaza, which to date had no use.
Improvement of the irrigation system.
Planting new trees.
Enabling different areas for new uses, such as a reading area, a new skating rink (350 m2) and a new area for calisthenics training (150 m2).
They also provide biosaludables games and new street furniture and led public lighting, with 23 new projectors.
Through Participatory Budgets, the protection candles of the children's areas have been installed, and the rides of the park that were on land, the area of ​​the fountain and the improvement of the canine recreation park have been arranged.
The total investment has been about 600,000 euros, the works have been carried out by API Movilidad, with the collaboration of local and regional companies, such as Industrias Mosser 97 (children's games), EQUIDESA (children's games), Toldesa (candles), Secom ( lighting), Children's Floors (security pavements), Pavimentos La Roda and Novatilu (urban furniture).
As explained by the Mayor, "this important investment gives a new impetus to the Park of the Company, making it a benchmark, both as a green lung and leisure use and free time for the entire town of Molina de Segura."
Throughout this last year, a large number of parks and children's areas that were very degraded have been valued (San Vicente, Sawmills, La Ermita, La Barceloneta, Huerto Fayrén, Enrique Riquelme, San Miguel, San Antonio, etc.), with a clear commitment to improving the public, guaranteeing certain levels of safety in the realization of children's games.
Shortly, work will begin on improving the parks of Ntra. Sra. De Los Ángeles (in the San José neighborhood), Parque de la Conserva (in the El Sifón neighborhood), Plaza de Almanzor (in El Llano) and in the new projected plaza of La Torrealta, which are already in the final phase of awarding, with an investment of close to 300,000.00 euros.
