The Molina de Segura City Council has carried out the rehabilitation of the Old Schools of El Fenazar, a project whose investment amounts to 59,952.54 euros, co-financed with 63% by the European Agrarian Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) and by the 37% for the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia.

The opening ceremony is held on Sunday March 3, at 11.00 am, in the district of El Fenazar.

The Mayor of Molina de Segura, Esther Clavero Mira, the General Director of Agrarian Funds and Rural Development of the Region of Murcia, Carmen María Sandoval Sánchez, the Councilor for European Projects, Concepción Orenes Hernández, and the Councilman of Pedanías, Antonio López attend Vidal.

It is a building that housed rural schools since the sixties of the twentieth century and that, after its reform, will allow it to better fulfill its function as a space and accommodation for activities of the associations of Campo de Molina, municipal activities, of the School of Adults or the Jury of Irrigation.

The municipality of Molinense, through the Department of European Projects, and within the Leader Program 2014-2020, has the support of the EAFRD and the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia for the Rehabilitation Project of the Old Schools of El Fenazar , approved by the Local Government Board of December 29, 2017. The Resolution granting aid for sub-measure 19.2 of the LEADER program of the General Directorate of Agrarian Funds and Rural Development of the Ministry of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, of June 29, 2018, included the concession to the City of Molina de Segura of an aid of 59,952.54 euros to undertake this project.

The works included in the project were aimed at the rehabilitation of the building: conditioning of toilets for the disabled, with renewal of coatings, flooring, installation of plumbing and sanitation, as well as carpentry;

facade and roof rehabilitation, installation of fire protection systems, interior painting and replacement of exterior carpentry, with installation of glass with air chamber, and lattice for protection against intrusion.

Also, also in El Fenazar, the Department of Public Roads and Municipal Works is proceeding to improve accessibility around the playgrounds, with the paving of the areas that were on land and the replacement of street furniture.

The investment amounts to 8,901.00 euros.

And, on the other hand, within the Participatory Budgeting process, the provision of a sidewalk is being made to improve accessibility along Avenida de Los Valientes, with an investment of 75,742 euros.
