Molina de Segura City Council signs an agreement with the TEDIS association for the maintenance of its occupational center in 2019 (02/04/2019)

The act of signing the agreement between the City of Molina de Segura and the Association for the Social Integration of the Disabled (TEDIS) for an occupational center in 2019 took place today, Tuesday, April 2, in the municipality of Molinense.

The Mayor of Molina de Segura, Esther Clavero Mira, the President of TEDIS, Ana García Beltrán, and the Councilor for Social Welfare, Ángel Navarro García, attended.

Molina de Segura City Council and TEDIS sign this collaboration agreement, with a municipal subsidy for a total amount of 22,000 euros.

TEDIS develops a project of an Occupational Center for the provision of services related to improving the quality of life of people with disabilities, maximizing the development of individual capacities and the full social integration of the group in all its areas.

This association works with the group of people with disabilities older than 16 years of the Molinense municipality.

The total number of people attending the center is 9, of which there are 5 men and 4 women, and the age range is from 19 to 60 years.

For years, TEDIS has been developing actions to respond to the needs derived from people with disabilities, favoring full family, work and social integration of the group, fostering the maximum development of basic skills.

The association's commitment to take into account the Social and Labor Insertion Exchange of the Molina de Segura City Council, aimed at favoring the integration into the labor market of people in situation of unemployment in the municipality is maintained.

As a novelty, TEDIS has launched this year a Family Respite Service on Saturdays, as well as other actions: support to people who need it from their home to the headquarters of the entity or place where the workshops are held;

inclusive leisure workshops (crafts, film forum, etc.);

art therapy, artistic expression, crafts, karaoke, gymkhana, etc.

The Occupational Center is located in Calle Canarias, s / n, in the pavilion of the old Colegio de Fátima.

It develops the following activities and workshops:

Computer workshop.

Swimming.

Hability games.

New Technologies workshops.

Activities to improve social skills.

Adapted sport: football, basketball, table tennis, petanque, golf, etc.

The opening hours are from 09.00 to 13.30, and it has a daily shuttle service.

The entity has two teachers of Special Education, for the development of the workshops, and the rest of services and activities are managed by volunteer personnel.
