The Mayor of Molina de Segura, Esther Clavero Mira, announced today, Tuesday, April 9, that the new director of the Villa de Molina Theater is Juan Francisco García Saorín.
The relay in the direction of this cultural center is due to the recent retirement of the previous director, José Antonio Avilés Moreno.
Juan Francisco García Saorín studied the Teaching Diploma at the University of Murcia and subsequently expanded his training as a social educator outside the university.
The professional career has developed mainly as a public employee of the City of Molina de Segura since 1985, year in which he joined as a sociocultural animator at the Popular University of Molina de Segura.
In the City Hall he has played different responsibilities in the field of culture, festivities, training for employment, community health and citizen participation.
He has collaborated with other organizations and companies as a social educator, especially with the Youth Red Cross of Murcia, where he launched, as director, the School of Education in Free Time.
For some time he has been linked to the theatrical phenomenon of the municipality, forming part of and promoting the creation of various theatrical groups: Cooperativa de Teatro Pandora, Histeria Teatro, La Mosca Teatro and the Municipal Theater Group, in which he has participated as an actor in multiple shows.
As an employee of the Municipal Institute of Culture, he was also part of the management team of the Molina de Segura Theater Festival in its 18th and 19th editions.
The management functions of the Teatro Villa de Molina will make them compatible with the position he currently plays as a citizen participation technician.
The Mayor highlighted "the great human and professional value of Juan Francisco García Saorín, official of this City Council, which endorses him to lead the largest cultural project in our municipality, such as the Villa de Molina Theater, which this year celebrates its fourteenth anniversary".
Finally, Esther Clavero thanked the "magnificent and successful management carried out in the Theater, during his last years, by until a few weeks ago its director, José Antonio Avilés".
