Molina de Segura City Council collaborates with the NGO Coordinator of the Region of Murcia in the organization of the Short Film Competition framed in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (15/04/2019)

The NGO Coordinator of the Region of Murcia (CONGD) has organized the National Short Film Competition on the Sustainable Development Goals, CortODS, an initiative that has the collaboration of the Molina de Segura City Council.

Through this contest, the CONGD intends to collect, through small videos in the format of short films, those attitudes, initiatives and / or individual and / or collective actions that contribute decisively to the fulfillment of the Agenda or of said Objectives and make visible situations and / or actions that denounce the breach of any of these ODS.

The contest was presented at a press conference at the Molinense City Hall, today, Monday, April 15, by the Mayor of the town, Esther Clavero Mira, the Councilor for Development Cooperation and Solidarity, Pedro Jesús Martínez Baños, and the President of the Coordinator of NGO for Development - CONGD of the Region of Murcia, Moisés Navarro Sánchez.

The objective of this initiative is that the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs have more diffusion among society, that people know what they are, that they take ownership of the Agenda and endorse it, and also that they try to provide solutions to the compliance with the 17 SDGs that the agenda sets.

The shorts will have to have a maximum duration of 10 minutes and be directed to one of the two themes that arise.

Young people will be able to participate from 14 years old.

The contest rules can be found on the Coordinator's website http://www.coordinadoraongdrm.org/.

The collaboration with the Autonomous Community, the City of Molina de Segura and the ODSesiones project of the University of Murcia has allowed the establishment of 3 categories of awards (National, Regional and University), each with 600 euros, and a special prize of 300 euros, contributed by the Regional Film Archive.

In addition, other institutions and organizations collaborate, such as the UNICEF Autonomous Committee of Murcia, the Polytechnic University of Cartagena and the Murcia-based producer Twin Freaks.

The contest is valid from April 1 to August 31.

Subsequently, the jury will decide the 3 best films of each category, which will be displayed during the month of September and October at the Regional Film Library before each projected film.

Finally, on October 24th, the award ceremony will be held for the winning short films at the Filmoteca de la Región de Murcia.
