The Department of the Environment of the City of Molina de Segura celebrates World Environment Day with two activities on Sunday, June 2, at the Visitor Information and Welcome Center of Las Lagunas de Campotéjar Salar Gordo.
The center opens its doors on the first and third Sunday of each month from 10:00 to 14:00 hours, and offers information on the ecological and landscape values ​​of Las Lagunas de Campotéjar Salar Gordo.
At 10:30 a guided tour will take place to learn about the water purification systems, where the path of the wastewater will be known before being part of the Las Lagunas de Campotéjar ZEPA.
In addition, other values ​​that the space presents will be known, such as the avifauna or saladar flora.
After the route, at 12:30 a workshop will be held on the water cycle, for all audiences, in which attendees can learn and enjoy, through experiments, the process of circulating water on Earth.
Participation is free and it is not necessary to make prior registration, except for groups of more than 10 people.
It is recommended to bring water, hat, sunscreen and comfortable clothes and shoes.
On June 5, World Environment Day is celebrated, a day where the awareness of the importance of taking care of our planet is highlighted throughout the world.
The United Nations, aware that the protection and improvement of the environment is a fundamental issue that affects the welfare of the people and the economic development of the entire world, began to celebrate World Environment Day on June 5, 1974.
The celebration of this day gives us the opportunity to broaden the foundations of a well-informed public opinion and of a behavior inspired by a sense of responsibility in terms of conservation and environmental improvement.
That is why, from the Department of Environment, actions are proposed to inform the population of the natural areas of Molina de Segura and achieve their participation in the management and conservation of biodiversity, flora and fauna.
