Molina Hospital presents its 2018 Sustainability Report (23/07/2019)

In its commitment to its Stakeholders, the Molina Hospital has presented its Sustainability Report (IS), corresponding to the year 2018 and prepared following the GRI Standards, in which it reports information on the integral management of the organization in the face of major challenges which sets out the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

A management carried out by establishing partnerships with public institutions, academics, social organizations and private companies, thus responding to SDG 17 (Partnerships to achieve the objectives).

The Director-Manager of the Hospital Center, Pedro Hernández Jiménez, explained that "2018 has been a key year at the Molina Hospital because it has led to the start of a new 2018-2020 Strategic Plan, whose objectives are to continue growing through new alliances that allow us to motivate our team, optimize resources, improve our quality of care, guarantee patient satisfaction and become a maximum contributor to the SMS, being referents in socially responsible management. "

Hernández Jiménez stressed that, after the important investment plan executed the previous year, the Molina Hospital has managed to consolidate the fifth operating room, the openings of the Maxillofacial Surgery Unit to perform surgery agreed with the SMS, of the Endovascular Therapeutic Unit equipped with an advanced hybrid operating room - unique in the Region of Murcia -, of the Upper Member Unit of the Traumatology and Orthopedic Surgery Service, and of the Pelvic Floor Unit integrated in the Gynecology and Obstetrics Service, among other actions: "All This has allowed us to increase our care activity by 30% compared to 2017, to favor the labor stability of our staff, increasing the number of professionals with indefinite hiring, and reducing the environmental impacts produced by our daily activity. "

The IS2018 includes as priority material issues for the Hospital de Molina the treatment of the patient, the increase in activity, the introduction of new services, the incorporation of new technologies to health care and the promotion and dissemination of health.

This last aspect responds to the hospital center's commitment to humanize health, through its Health Promotion and Outreach Program, with which it contributes, on the one hand, with a health model focused on prevention and the promotion of habits. healthy, and on the other, with the empowerment of the patient by facilitating their participation in health / health issues.

In this way, it effectively supports the achievement of SDG 3 (Health and Welfare).

And his commitment to Gender Equality SDG 5 (Gender Equality) - has led him to voluntarily implement the I Equality Plan within the organization.

In the environmental field, the challenges posed by climate change mean that the Hospital de Molina shows an effective commitment to SDGs 12 (Responsible Production and Consumption) and 13 (Climate Action), improving its energy efficiency and reducing the generation of waste.
