The opening ceremony of the two new Sports Pavilions II and III of the El Romeral Municipal Sports Center took place on Tuesday, September 24, after a municipal investment of 1,941,708 euros.
The Mayor of Molina de Segura, Esther Clavero Mira, and the Councilor for Sports and Health, Miguel Ángel Cantero García, attended.
The City of Molina de Segura has made several investments in the Sports Center, together with the construction of the two pavilions, which are summarized in:
Building pavilions: € 1,320,299.90.
Sanitation services: € 339,420.76.
Supply and installation of sports furniture: € 245,692.30.
Electricity supply: € 67,774.19.
Electricity supply to sports furniture: € 35,959.93.
Total municipal investment: € 1,941,708.
Each of the pavilions has dimensions of 30x48 meters, with playgrounds for:
Centrals: basketball, handball, futsal and volleyball.
Transversals: 3 basketball and 3 volleyball.
The stands of each of the pavilions have a capacity of 355 spectators.
In addition, on the same surface, under the changing rooms of Pavilion III, and next to soccer field 7, changing rooms have been built with the following rooms: 2 changing rooms for athletes;
2 changing rooms for referees;
1 first aid kit;
1 warehouse of sports equipment;
1 cleaning warehouse;
and 1 boiler room.
The sports surface management project has been able to efficiently solve (as demonstrated in the past DANA), the collection of rainwater that so many flood problems gave to the sports facilities of El Romeral.
In relation to the pavilions, the Mayor stressed that "we are faced with ecological and efficient sports facilities in terms of their conception and construction, as well as exemplary in their category at the sports level, for its versatility, versatility, complete equipment and functionality" .
The new pavilions are buildings that since its conception were planned to be ecological, environmentally friendly and efficient in terms of energy consumption and consumption.
In this regard, the following stand out: the materials used for its construction;
the totally ecological and natural sports surface;
the care in the design of natural lighting, in order to minimize energy consumption;
the artificial lighting installed, consisting of state-of-the-art LEDs, as well as the installation of presence sensors in changing rooms and toilets;
and the provision of sanitary hot water by solar panels and natural gas.
All this set of elements make them efficient buildings.
On a sports level, they are versatile, functional and modern pavilions.
Multitasking, because they can develop training and official competitions of all sports hall disciplines, as well as can be used for the development of cultural and social events.
Functional, because each of them has a useful surface for sports use of 1,300 square meters and an obstacle-free height of 9 meters, which places them among the first in its category in terms of performance and number of athletes that at the same Time can make use of these pavilions.
And modern, because there has been an overexertion to provide them with the maximum automation in sports equipment, such as baskets, curtains and bleachers, so that all of them are motorized.
Likewise, they are equipped with electronic markers and wireless public address system and all the furniture and regulatory sports equipment that allows the correct development of training and official competitions of volleyball, handball, basketball, rhythmic gymnastics, futsal, skating, and hosting many of the activities that make up the offer of the Department of Sports and Health.
