MOTION

During September 12, 13 and 14, 2019, the municipality of Molina de Segura has been severely affected by an episode of "cold drop", or DANA, with a volume of rainfall never seen before, and that has caused numerous material damages in infrastructure, housing, household goods and belongings of citizens of our municipality.

Since Wednesday, September 11, meteorological services had warned of this adverse phenomenon with a red level, so that, from the municipal services, the Municipal Emergency Plan was activated, a civil protection preventive device, with permanent meetings of CECOPAL, among others, from that day, warning the population and providing the necessary means to mitigate as far as possible the effects of torrential rains.

The municipal government team was permanently involved in the actions that were carried out during the time of the DANA, in coordination with the regional emergency services as well as those responsible for the regional government and the Segura Hydrographic Confederation.

After the episode of torrential rains, work continues to alleviate the effects and the damages produced in numerous houses of the municipality, from all the municipal services, emergency organizations as well as the citizenship itself, which has turned out showing its solidarity with those affected.

On the other hand, and acting as quickly as possible, immediate help was made available to those affected to deal with the damage caused to their homes, as well as a Service for the handling of claims for damages, and the start-up of the Office of Social Assistance to assist the affected people, and the Municipal Office of advice for processing flood aids, and CIFEA facilities to accommodate those who had to leave their home due to the risk of flooding.

From the municipal institution we believe that it is time to value and publicly recognize the unstoppable effort of the entities and organizations that have contributed both to prevent and mitigate the effects of torrential rains that have occurred in our municipality in these days of September .

Thus, through this motion of institutional congratulation, it is intended to publicly recognize the work done by the Association of Civil Protection Volunteers of Molina de Segura, the municipal Civil Protection technician, Local Police, Firefighters, operators of the Municipal Warehouse, municipal company SERCOMOSA, Red Cross Molina-Vega Media, CÁRITAS, Protectora de Animales, CIFEA, Radio Compañía, municipal officials of various departments and departments such as Public Road, Public Health, Social Welfare, Legal Advice, Press, among others, as well as companies that have provided vehicles , heavy machinery and other elements to carry out standardization tasks for roads, public spaces and homes, and social organizations that have contributed to helping those affected.

The exemplary performance of organizations, institutions and individuals has contributed to mitigate, as far as possible, the effects of floods due to DANA.

For all the above, it is proposed to the Plenary the adoption of the following agreements:

Institutionally congratulate and publicly acknowledge their work to prevent and mitigate the effects of floods suffered by the municipality on September 12 to 14, 2019, to the Association of Civil Protection Volunteers of Molina de Segura, Municipal Civil Protection Technician, Local Police , Firefighters, Operators of the Municipal Warehouse, municipal company SERCOMOSA, Red Cross Molina-Vega Media, CÁRITAS, Protectora de Animales, CIFEA, Radio Compañía, municipal officials of various departments such as Public Road, Public Health, Social Welfare, Legal Advice, Press, among others, as well as companies that have contributed vehicles, heavy machinery and others for the performance of road, public space and housing standardization tasks.

Promote a public event in which the diploma of distinguished services of the municipality is awarded to these organizations for such relevant work for the benefit of our municipality in the situation so adverse that it has been experienced as a result of flooding.
