Council Furnace Museum + Folklore House

This is a unique example of popular architecture from the 17th-18th centuries, located in the Barrio del Castillo that was born after the recovery and rehabilitation of the oldest furnace in this city: the Horno del Castillo.

The building maintains almost entirely its original structure, made with the ancient technique of the tapial and which highlights the great dome of its impressive moruno oven.

The museum shows, with interactive media and a very current museology, the most significant aspects of the baker's trade as well as a sample of the most significant aspects of local folklore.

The rooms it consists of are:

• Bread room: where we talk about the architecture, history and stories of this oven and its people.

• Audiovisual Room: An enveloping audiovisual is projected on the walls and in the extraordinary dome of the oven, the indefatigable work of the baker, who night after night kneads his bread.

• Folklore Room: Rounds, rondallas, dances traditions and sounds come together in this room so that the visitor knows and enjoys the rich folklore of Molina de Segura.

• Sala del Pozo: the cistern, meeting point of the traditional houses of the garden.
