The Councilor for Housing of the City of Molina de Segura, Mariano Vicente Albaladejo, accompanied by technical staff of the Department, held, Tuesday, November 12, working meetings with the Director General of Housing of the Region of Murcia, José Francisco Lajara, the Deputy Director of Housing, Begoña Sánchez, and technicians of that department, with the aim of proposing new lines of action and strengthening collaboration in various aspects.

The main point of the agenda was to discuss the incorporation of Molina de Segura into the Urban Regeneration and Renovation Promotion Program (ARRU), which is being developed by the Ministry of Development, in collaboration with the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, within the framework of the State Housing Plan 2018-2021.

According to Mariano Vicente, "the City Council has prepared an advance proposal to intervene in 13 neighborhoods of the town center and in districts with grants for housing rehabilitation and re-building operations, which will improve the current private housing stock, providing them with structural, functional and energy efficiency improvements.This is especially significant in some neighborhoods suffering from a significant degree of deterioration of the housing stock, and which can thus boost its activity, contribute to the rejuvenation of its population and alleviate the market for The final scope, in terms of the number of interventions to be scheduled, will be defined at the beginning of the year 2020 and it is the objective of both institutions that Molina de Segura is definitely included in this program throughout that year, although they may avail of aid interventions initiated prior to this date that are under development.

In order to provide information and technically advise promoters, owners and neighborhood communities, an information campaign will be organized and the municipality will be provided with a technical office that will facilitate the monitoring of all actions. "

Other topics were also discussed in the work meetings, such as: the improvement in the coordination of the management of social housing that the Community has in the municipality;

the development of community action plans in the housing blocks, especially numerous in the Fatima neighborhood;

municipal collaboration in updating user censuses;

and adherence to the mortgage mediation services offered by the Community in collaboration with the Administration of Justice.

In the opinion of the councilman, "it is an important impulse to a young council, which is the result of government commitment to active policies to favor the right to housing, and now diversifies lines of work to expand objectives."
