The Jugger Municipal Youth School, promoted by the Department of Sports and Health of the City of Molina de Segura and the Jugger Federation of the Region of Murcia, begins its journey on December 2 at the Soccer Field of San Miguel, aimed at young people from the town of 12 to 16 years.
The training sessions will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 8:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
The project has been presented at a press conference on Friday, November 22, by the Councilor for Sports and Health, Miguel Ángel Cantero García, the Vice President of the Jugger Federation of the Region of Murcia, Pedro Dimas Martínez, and the Technical Manager Programs of the Department of Sports and Health, Teresa Sánchez Hernández.
The students of this school will learn values ​​that characterize the Jugger, such as honesty, companionship and equality, while working on physical exercise, strategy and competitiveness.
Jugger is a new mixed and contact sport in which two teams of five people face each other for the control of the jugg, which acts as the ball, and that must be introduced in the opposite base to get a goal.
The runner of each team is the only player capable of scoring points, while the other four players escort him, while controlling that the opposing team runner does not put the game in the base.
Molina de Segura, with the celebration in the locality of 6 national tournaments, has a consolidated tradition in this sport.
The town has hosted the best players on the national scene and is currently the headquarters of several teams in the Region of Murcia.
On Wednesday, November 27, from 8:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., an open day will be held at the San Miguel Soccer Field, and on December 2 classes will begin in that place.
