carries out a plantation activity on the banks of the Segura, in La Ribera de Molina, on Saturday] | The Department of Environment develops this recovery action of the riverbank ecosystem within the Program for the Conservation and Improvement of the Natural Ecosystems of the Segura River |

The Natural Volunteering Program ¡Voluntari @ s Naturalmente !, promoted by the Department of Environment of the City of Molina de Segura, proposes for next Saturday, November 30, an activity in which volunteers will collaborate in a plantation along the river Sure, in La Ribera de Molina.

This activity has the collaboration of the Association of Neighbors of the Ribera de Molina.

Volunteers who participate in this activity will be previously informed about the importance of the recovery of river ecosystems, the multiple ecological values ​​they possess and the environmental functions they perform, among which we can highlight the maintenance of biodiversity, their contribution to the natural self-purification of waters and the prevention of the effects of avenues.

They will also learn to recognize and differentiate invasive and native vegetation present in the riverbank ecosystem and the importance of its elimination, the characteristics of the species to be planted and the basic instructions for proper planting.

Volunteers will plant around 100 specimens of native species of Ribera such as poplars, ash, alms, elms, oleanders or tarays, in a place on the banks of the Segura River in the hamlet of the Ribera de Molina which is accessed by the Camino of the boat.

The Councilor for the Environment, Mariano Vicente Albaladejo, considers that "participation is a fundamental tool for citizen awareness and for the proper management of the natural environment and I thank the participants in advance for their work in the environmental improvement of this enclave on the banks of the Segura River ".

Next Saturday will be the last proposal of the 2019 environmental volunteer program, in January 2020 the activities of this program will be resumed that take place on the last Saturday of each month and are aimed at all those people over 14 years interested in the conservation of natural spaces and in the improvement of the municipality.
