The accessibility of people with disabilities to all the information that is provided in the visits to the Museum of the Wall of the Wall (MUDEM) of Molina de Segura will be improved and reinforced with "Amuse", a new app promoted by the ONCE Foundation to mobile terminals compatible with Bluetooth low energy ('Bluetooth Low Energy') with iOS and Android operating systems.
This app has been presented today at a press conference by the Councilor for Culture of the City of Molina de Segura, Soledad Nortes Navarro, the Delegate of the ONCE in the Region of Murcia, Juan Carlos Morejón de Girón, and the representative of the Development Department of Business of ILUNION Technology and Accessibility, Pablo Fernández Vega.
The new application will make it possible for people visiting the Molinense museum to choose between guided or free tour modalities.
Each of them allows access to information on the works exhibited, as well as videos and audio explanatory in sign language and easy reading, to accommodate all persons with disabilities.
"Amuse", developed by ILUNION Technology and Accessibility, incorporates automatic image recognition to access the information of any work just by focusing it with the camera of the mobile device.
It also includes the game mode, with which the person visiting MUDEM can learn even more and in a different and fun way about this Molinense museum.
This innovative application, based on the technology of intelligent beacons' guided interior beacons, has been awarded the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Award for innovation in non-governmental organizations.
MUDEM will be the first museum in the Region where it is operational.
The application, which will be fully operational within two months, also has an online tool, which allows content and games to be updated via the Internet, quickly, easily and at no additional cost.
The app works through 'beepcons' that are currently being installed in different places of the MUDEM.
These intelligent interior guidance beacons facilitate the location of objects within an unknown space and facilitates user orientation.
It is especially useful for people with visual impairment, but also for those who do not have vision problems.
ILUNION Technology and Accessibility, a pioneer in Spain in universal accessibility and the only one that works on 360 ° accessibility, was the winner in the Local Government Board on December 10 of the minor contract for the accessibility adaptation service for people with disabilities at MUDEM, for an amount of 17,676.89 euros.
