Molina de Segura makes a total of 13 facilities available to the Government of Spain to house patients affected by COVID-19 (08/04/2020)

Molina de Segura has made available to the Government of the Nation a total of 13 facilities to house patients affected by COVID-19, according to reports, today, Wednesday April 8, the First Deputy Mayor of the Molinense City Council and spokesman for the Municipal Committee of COVID-19 Monitoring in the municipality, Ángel Navarro García.

Twelve of the facilities are public and include municipal pavilions, the municipal hostel and CIFEA facilities, among others.

As a private facility, the Hotel Villasegura is available.

All these infrastructures contemplate more than 11,000 square meters, ninety-five rooms and 3 dining rooms, being able to house thousands of patients, depending on the technical criteria established in such confinement.

Only if the evolution of cases were worse, the confinement of people with COVID-19 would be possible, if the health authorities determine so.

This provision of public spaces and buildings has been brought to the attention of the Government of the Region of Murcia, which in turn will pass the information on to the Government of the Nation, which will determine whether it takes measures to house positive cases that do not have symptoms or They were minor or ultimately set up field hospitals, therefore it is only an official estimate of municipal spaces made available to the Government of Spain.

In Murcia, 42,000 rapid tests were recently received, in principle intended for health personnel, people in nursing homes and, in turn, also destined for health centers, in order to diagnose those infected not confirmed by PCR and those who have passed the confinement as an alleged COVID-19 case.

It should be remembered that, at the regional level, the data stands out that the Region of Murcia presents the basic reproduction number (RO) of 0.68, being the fourth lowest figure in all of Spain, according to data from the Carlos III Health Institute.

In Molina de Segura, the COVID-19 center located in La Torrealta district reduces its PCR sample collection hours from 09:00 to 15:00, due to the decrease in patients derived from the SMS, which indicates a decrease in people with symptoms of the entire Area VI.

"All this makes us have a hopeful and optimistic vision. Let us hope that the spaces offered to the government are not necessary and that the obvious improvement continues, further limiting, if possible, the growth of its spread," says the First Deputy Mayor.

As for the incidence of COVID-19 in the municipality of Molina de Segura, according to the data provided by the Ministry of Health of the Region of Murcia, the confirmed number (the test has been carried out) of Molinenses affected by the coronavirus up to Last Monday, April 6 (latest information provided to date), it totaled 59 people (representing 4.8% of the total for the Region).
