Great success of participation in the micro-story activity When reality resembles fiction (22/04/2020)

| The initiative, included in the #CulturaenCasa program, has already received 75 micro-stories sent by the citizens of Molina de Segura and by writers from all over Spain during the state of alarm decreed by COVID-19 | For years, the municipality of Molina de Segura has established itself as a city overturned in literature, which is manifested in the appearance among its neighbors of various national authors and authors, the proliferation of writers and literary associations, the so-called legend of the meteorite and the success of cultural programs such as the series Escritores en su ink, the Setenil Prize for the Best Book of Stories Published in Spain or the Book Spring. In the context of the quarantine originated by COVID-19, and as part of its #CulturaenCasa program, the Department of Culture launched a few weeks ago the activity of writing a micro-story under the generic title When reality looks like fiction.

The unstoppable literary machinery of Molina de Segura has been launched and there are already 75 micro-stories that can be read on social networks. The success of the proposal and the variety of participants demonstrates the transversality of literature and culture in general.

There are many citizens who have wanted to express their concerns and feelings in this situation.

Among them, members of literary groups El Retén, La Molineta, Molínea and writers who already have published books, including the authors of the meteorite. People linked to Molina de Segura have also joined through the Setenil Prize or the Writers in their ink cycle.

Among the best-known firms that have participated in this project, which was born in Molina de Segura but has reached a national scale, are José Ovejero, Luis Leante, Clara Obligado, Javier Sáez de Ibarra, Eliacer Cansino, Elena Alonso Frayle, Fernando Clemot , Diego Sánchez Aguilar, Miguel Ángel Hernández, Manuel Moya or Gonzalo Calcedo. Those interested in participating can send a micro-story to culturaencasa@molinadesegura.es or to whatsapp 682 80 42 41.

You must deal, directly or indirectly, with the situation we are experiencing and its length cannot exceed 200 words.

The micro-stories appear on social networks (Twitter, @Cultura_Molina, and Facebook, @ConcejaliadeCulturaMolina), and in the end they will all be published together in digital format or in a paper book, as reported by the Councilor for Culture, Soledad Nortes Navarro.
