| The Local Government Board also agreed, yesterday, April 23, to postpone payment of the receipts of the 2nd bimester of the garbage rate | Yesterday, April 23, the Local Government Board of the Molina de Segura City Council approved the reduction of the garbage rate for those businesses that have had to suspend their activity as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the expansion of the voluntary period of payment of the garbage receipts of the 2nd bimester, as announced by the Mayor of the town, Esther Clavero Mira. The current health crisis caused by COVID-19 has forced the closure of numerous retail, restaurant and bar, leisure, cultural and educational activities.

This unprecedented situation generates large losses to the affected businesses and, therefore, to the economy of the municipality of Molina de Segura. The City Council of Molina de Segura, aware that the sectors involved are vital for the economy and local employment, in addition to being the backbone of the daily life of Molinenses, has attended to the proposal of entrepreneurs and merchants, which required a bonus of the garbage rate, as a fiscal measure to support the company. Thus, in addition to the economic measures previously applied in the context of this health crisis, such as the modification of the fiscal calendar for the financial year 2020, the extension of voluntary payment periods or the economic stimulus measures put in place to alleviate the effects of the same, the Local Government Board has approved to postpone the payment of the receipts of the 2nd bimester of the garbage rate, corresponding to those premises closed in application of RD 463/2020, of declaration of the state of alarm, until end of the year, turning receipts domiciled on December 20. Likewise, it will subsidize retail establishments and establishments, and those where catering, hospitality, leisure, educational and cultural activities are carried out, which have been forced to suspend their opening to the public and their activity, in accordance with the provisions of RD 463 / 2020, moving them to the situation of closed premises, in order to apply the reduced rate provided for in section B) of article 5.5 of the fiscal ordinance regulating the rate for the provision of the urban solid waste collection service.

Said modification will take place from the next tax period (two-month period May-June) and will be maintained in successive tax periods as long as the premises are closed. "The commercial dynamism and the image of the living city of Molina de Segura would not be understood without our shops and restaurants, so the reduction of the garbage rate contributes to maintaining local businesses.

We will implement all those measures to support and encourage our businesses and companies to overcome this health crisis, "explains the first mayor, Esther Clavero.
