Officials and technicians of the departments of Trade and Economic Promotion held, on Wednesday, April 29, a videoconference meeting with representatives of trade and business associations to learn about the real needs of the productive sectors of the municipality The Molina de Segura City Council, through the Department of Commerce and Economic Promotion, is working on a Commercial, Hospitality and Industrial Reactivation Project to alleviate the consequences of the state of alarm decreed by COVID-19.

The Councilor for Economic Promotion, José de Haro González, and the Councilor for Trade, Crafts and Tourism, Andrés Martínez Cervantes, accompanied by municipal technicians, held a meeting by videoconference, yesterday, Wednesday, April 29, with representatives of the Association of Professional Commerce , COM-PRO, and the Association of Entrepreneurs and Merchants of Segura, ASECOM, to know the real needs of the productive sectors of the municipality. In this meeting an attempt was made to sketch the current situation of local commerce and industry, trying to provide solutions to adopt the necessary measures that benefit the vast majority.

For two hours they expressed ideas, recommendations, measures to study and, above all, demands of the sectors involved. For their part, Councilors Andrés Martínez and José de Haro recalled the measures already approved by the Molina de Segura City Council, after the health emergency caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, such as the immediate payment plan to suppliers, the bonus in the garbage rate and other fees to closed premises, or the postponement of taxes by modifying the fiscal calendar.

All this is part of a Dynamization and contingency Plan for businesses and hoteliers, which will be endowed with 200,000 euros in various lines of aid and incentives for job creation, investment in equipment and NNTT, and campaigns to promote local trade. Molina de Segura has a business and commercial fabric that exceeds 5,000 companies and 1,500 businesses, with plans to increase these figures in the coming years with the development of new business areas already underway. "Our objective explains the Councilor for Trade- is to reach all establishments in the municipality.

We are aware of the need for protective material, such as gloves, gel, masks, screens, and the concern that exists in certain sectors, such as textiles.

Our reactivation campaigns will aim to retain the maximum possible customers in the municipality, raise awareness of the importance of local commerce and take advantage of the success of those carried out from the state of alarm, to maintain those customers.

" From the COM-PRO Trade Association, its president, Francisco Saura, points out that "it is necessary to establish security measures and protocol for the opening of shops; we have to give guarantees to customers." They need facilities in terms of customer parking, public transport, etc., which the City Council is already working on. ASECOM, represented by its president, Eloy Jiménez Gambín, sees it essential that campaigns are contracted, and that it is important to contract the most with local suppliers.

It also highlights the importance of not only delaying payments, but prorating as much as possible and reimbursing part, giving payment facilities. From the Molinense City Council it is recalled that there is a municipal ordinance that allows tax deferment, up to 5 years for those who request it. All agree on the need to raise awareness and help establishments in their incorporation into electronic commerce, so that more and more are joining online sales, anticipating new stages in which this situation will be repeated.

This helps to reduce infections and implement home delivery.
