| The 2020-2021 academic year begins today Tuesday, September 29, subject to a Contingency Plan prepared by the Department of Education of the Molinense Consistory, in coordination with IES Francisco de Goya | The students of the Occupational Classroom in Molina de Segura, an exceptional measure of Educational Compensation for the prevention and control of absenteeism and school drop-outs during the last year of compulsory schooling, begins the 2020-2021 academic year today, Tuesday, September 29. This Classroom is launched thanks to the collaboration of the Department of Education of the City of Molina de Segura and the Department of Education and Culture of the Region of Murcia.
It is administratively attached to IES Francisco de Goya. This year the COVID-19 pandemic entails the need to take special prevention and protection measures to be able to safely resume activity in educational centers.
For this reason, there has been a transfer of the old facilities of the Occupational Classroom in the Polígono de La Serreta to the Municipal Nursery, where the size of the facilities allows to keep the regulatory distances between the students to minimize health and hygiene risks. The Contingency Plan has been activated, prepared for this purpose by the Department of Education in coordination with the Francisco de Goya IES, which contains cleaning, sanitary and prevention protocols, following at all times the different protocols of prevention and hygiene measures and health promotion, which have been taken as a reference for the operation of educational centers published by the Ministries of Education and Health and the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Region of Murcia. The Department of Education, in addition to the development of the Occupational Classroom Contingency Plan, has carried out the corresponding ones for the centers of competence or municipal ownership, such as the Infant Schools, and the Conservatory and has worked on the organization in a coordinated manner with the schools of the municipality that are the responsibility of the Ministry of Education for the development of educational centers before the beginning of the 2020-2021 academic year. Among the measures contemplated in the Contingency Plan for the Occupational Classroom, the following stand out: Reinforcement of cleaning and disinfection tasks in the facilities, with extension of face-to-face hours, to carry out these tasks with special emphasis on cleaning bathrooms, handles, door knobs, stair railings and materials. The municipal civil servants of the Classroom have been provided with the corresponding EPIS according to the Department of Occupational Risks of the City Council. Signage of the center's facilities to maintain safety distances at its different entrances. Two staggered entry and exit times have been set for the two groups into which the students have been divided to avoid crowds, not allowing the entry of families or external personnel, with exceptions, which will be managed individually and always following the hygienic sanitary measures established in regulations. Communication and information channels have been established with the families through the google meet application, email and phone calls to maintain a fluid relationship.
Tutorials with families will be done by phone, except for exceptions that will be individualized, face-to-face and keeping the relevant security and distance measures. The computer and electrical systems of the facilities have been expanded and reinforced, with the installation of an internet network and the renovation of lights. It has been equipped with hydroalcoholic gel and pedal bins for the use of the students. For the transfer of students, the recommendations of the Ministry of Education have been followed, reducing the capacity of the same to half, making two trips to transfer them to the facilities of the Municipal Nursery. The Councilor for Education, Fuensanta Martínez Jiménez, thanked "the work carried out by officials of the Department of Education, especially the teachers assigned to the Occupational Classroom and the Absenteeism Service of this council, which, in coordination with other Municipal councils, such as Municipal Warehouse, TIC and Social Welfare, have made possible a work that minimizes risks significantly, prioritizing that our educational spaces are environments as safe as possible.
I also want to thank the IES Fracisco de Goya for availability and collaboration , and its teachers, have always shown that the Occupational Classroom of Molina de Segura has been a reality in recent years.Thank the sensitivity of all the people who have made it possible for the Occupational Classroom students to continue within the educational system, completing their educational and professional training.
