The Department of Social Welfare of Molina de Segura promotes the television program Mostly Seniors on TV (01/10/2020)

| The program is broadcast from Monday to Friday, on Thader TV from today Thursday, October 1, International Day of the Elderly, until December 31st | The Department of Social Welfare of the Molina de Segura City Council, through its Unit for the Elderly, has promoted the television program Mostly Older on TV, which will be broadcast on Thader TV from today, Thursday, October 1, International People's Day Seniors, until December 31.As explained by the Councilor for Social Welfare, Ángel Navarro García, "the objective of this initiative is to promote a telematic activity for the elderly in our municipality, through a television program, specially designed for them, so that this group, who has been the most mistreated since the coronavirus pandemic began, connect through this television space with the normality with which they previously lived with COVID-19 ".Mostly Seniors on TV is aimed at the population over 65 years of the municipality, about 9,031 people, which represents 12.06% of the total population: 4,125 men (45.7%); and 4,906 women (54.3%)."Aging is not limited to a specific moment in life, Navarro points out, but is part of the sequence of human development.

For this reason, considering old age as a process opens paths of action and breaks down barriers of prejudice.

Aging models satisfactory or optimal incorporate concurrent aspects, such as good physical, functional, cognitive and social health, so the activities aimed at this group must incorporate a model for promoting positive aging (active, successful, competent, satisfactory).

Therefore, it is our responsibility as an administration to promote the actions necessary to work with our group of seniors in this active and quality aging process ".The Councilor for Social Welfare has highlighted that "our elders have always given us the best of themselves; now is the time to give back what they have done.

Among all the tools we have and can have at our disposal, technology plays a very important role to improve their quality of life, since it offers the opportunity to access stimuli and instruments until now unexplored, even more so in the current circumstances "."Given that we are in a phase where the elderly must still remain, according to health recommendations, at home, it is essential to develop an action project like this from the Elderly Unit, through television, with the aim of continuing invigorating the group as we have been doing for more than five years, through a program designed fundamentally for them.

This project, in which the Association for Active and Healthy Aging of Molina de Segura participates, intends to continue working on the process I live by revitalizing the elderly group, because our main objective is to continue working for the municipality's elderly group, making them arrive, in these difficult times, more than ever, that they are our priority.
