Molina de Segura is one of the 15 cities compared in the 11 study carried out by urban planner and activist Yves Cabannes and published by the OIDP, which includes the Contributions of participatory budgets to adaptation and mitigation of climate change Molina de Segura and its Youth Participatory Budget is part of the study that has been carried out by an urban planner and activist specialized in urban and municipal governance, emeritus professor of development planning, and which deals with adaptation to climate change and citizen participation.
The study has been presented by the International Observatory of Participatory Democracy (OIDP) this past September. The study is co-published by OIDP-UCLG together with Enda ECOPOP, FMDV (Global Fund for Cities Development), the Kota Kita Foundation and University College London, under the title Contributions of participatory budgeting to adaptation and mitigation of climate change. It is based on contributions from two international sessions on the contributions of participatory budgeting (PsPs) to climate change adaptation and mitigation.
PsPs initiatives in 15 participating cities and regions from different continents.
In this case, one of those cities is Molina de Segura, through the Youth Participatory Budget, throughout its different editions until this last year, based solely on the fight against climate change, being suspended due to the current pandemic of the COVID-19.
