Molina de Segura takes up the 2020 Writers in His Ink Cycle with Paloma Sánchez-Garnica (05/10/2020)

| The writer from Madrid will participate electronically on Tuesday, October 6, at 8:00 p.m.

| The Department of Culture of the Molina de Segura City Council takes up the fourteenth edition of the Cycle of Writers Literary Encounters in its ink 2020, which has allowed some of the most prominent writers and writers in the Spanish language to parade through this city.

On February 6, 2020, before the start of the quarantine, it was possible to enjoy the presence of the author Dolores Redondo, but the rest of the programming was interrupted. Given the current socio-health situation generated by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Department of Culture highlights the need to continue offering the population a range of cultural activities as rich and varied as possible.

"We have to win against the virus and its nonsense, and culture allows us to continue growing as a society," declared the Councilor for Culture, Soledad Nortes Navarro.

For this reason, the participation of Paloma Sánchez-Garnica in this edition of Escritores en su tinta will be offered on Tuesday, October 6, at 8:00 p.m., telematically, through the Zoom platform. Paloma Sánchez-Garnica (Madrid, 1962), graduated in Law and Geography and History, narrates her own biography in her books as if she were a fairy tale character herself.

It is easy to imagine her family life, her discovery of the classics, the Chamberí neighborhood, her boyfriend Manolo, the summers in Salou and Santander, the long journeys in a Renault 21 listening to zarzuelas.

She went from eternal opponent and lawyer without too many cases to a successful writer thanks to her craft and discipline. Author of El gran arcano (2006) and La brisa de Oriente (2009), her novel The Soul of the Stones (2010) was a great success among readers.

The three wounds (2012) and, above all, La sonata del silencio, which was adapted for a series on TVE, marked her consecration among critics and readers as a writer with a great literary personality.

With My memory is stronger than your forgetfulness, of which five editions were published and which has been translated for all Anglo-Saxon-speaking countries, it won the 2016 Fernando Lara Novel Prize. The presentation will be in charge of the journalist and writer Lola Gracia. Next October 29, at 8:00 p.m., there will also be a meeting with the writer Cristina Morató.

In due course, the link and the keys to participate in the meeting will be provided.
