| The agreement includes a municipal grant of 39,000 euros | The Molina de Segura City Council and the Spanish Red Cross Molina-Vega Media Regional Assembly have signed a collaboration agreement for a project for urgently needed aid and Aid and Emergencies in 2020, as reported by the Councilor for Social Welfare, Ángel Navarro García, today Wednesday October 14. The agreement contemplates a municipal subsidy of 39,000 euros, an economic support that falls both on social intervention programs, to cover the needs of the most disadvantaged groups, and on the Aid and Emergencies program, which acts quickly and efficiently. Due to the current health crisis due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with a greater demand for social assistance, on the one hand, and the cancellation of sporting and cultural events, on the other, the distribution of the amounts of the agreement has been modified , allocating 33,000 euros to the part of social projects, and 6,000 euros to that of relief and emergencies. The signed agreement pursues the fulfillment of the following objectives: - In the area of ??Social Intervention: improve the living conditions of people and families of Molina de Segura in situations of extreme vulnerability and with a low level of economic income, and facilitate that people in situations of material poverty maintain adequate minimum conditions with support in covering basic needs (food, rent, supplies, electricity, pharmacy, optics and small appliances).
The actions to be taken are: Processing of economic aid for urgent attention to basic needs and prevention of residential exclusion to cover expenses of a social emergency situation derived from the crisis for the concepts of: rent, electricity supply, pharmacy, and food vouchers. Food distribution: helping the most disadvantaged (FEAD 2014-2020).
The distribution of food is carried out by the entity 3 times a year for those families in a situation of social risk due to lack of economic income. Provide baby food to families in the municipality with limited economic resources and with minors in their care. - In the area of ??Aid and Emergencies: provide health care to people who participate in sports, cultural and social events to prevent and alleviate human suffering, maintaining adequate response times within the event; and make the first assistance and travel to a useful health center for sick people, injured or for other health reasons in vehicles specially equipped for this purpose (activities are coordinated with those carried out with the municipality's Civil Protection services): Preventive services, urgent medical transport and intervention in emergencies and ERIE's Programs. The beneficiaries of economic aid from the projects presented by the entity during 2019 have been 739 (392 women and 347 men), and from the distribution of food, 634. The agreement includes a social clause where it includes the commitment by the entity to take into account the Social and Labor Insertion Exchange of the Molina de Segura City Council, aimed at promoting the integration into the labor market of unemployed people in the municipality. The Red Cross has its headquarters at Avenida de la Industria, No.
39, in the old RENFE station (according to the lease contract of the Molinense City Council with ADIF), and has for this project 1 Social Intervention Technician, 1 Relief Technician and Emergencies, Volunteer Team in Social Intervention and Volunteer Team in Relief and Emergency. Finally, the agreement includes the transfer made by the City Council to said entity of a 1,500 m2 plot in Polígono Industrial La Serreta, to be used as a Red Cross Emergency Logistics Center.
