[The Molina de Segura City Council launches an information service to avoid agricultural burns (15/01/2021)

| The Department of the Environment makes available to farmers an information and advice service on alternatives to burning prunings | The general prohibition of agricultural burning, due to its impact on air quality and its consequences on public health and the environment, leads to the search for more sustainable alternatives .

The councilors of Agriculture and Environment of the Molina de Segura City Council want to facilitate this transition by supporting farmers through a service through which they will be provided with the information and advice necessary to give the optimal treatment of your pruning remains, avoiding damage to the environment and possible penalties.

For this, a telephone number has been set up, 618 973 113, in which, via WhatsApp or answering machine, you can send your questions and leave your contact information so that the personnel in charge of this service can give them an answer and advise them.

A portal has also been set up on the City Council website, http://noquemes.molinadesegura.es, where all the available information will be posted; among other, a registry of suppliers and companies that develop services for clearing, shredding, waste management, etc., classified by type and characteristics of the service.

This service will also promote the association and collaboration of farmers and owners, in order to make the management of pruning remains profitable.

To do this, they will remain in permanent contact with the associations, entities, irrigation communities, zone boards of each of the orchard areas, as well as with the requested mayors, facilitating communication among all the agents involved and the coordination when hiring services so that they are more profitable and efficient.

At the same time, a communication and awareness campaign will be developed to raise awareness of the importance of avoiding practices that deteriorate air quality and contribute to climate change, promoting those alternatives that are beneficial for health and the environment.

The Councilor for the Environment, Mariano Vicente Albaladejo, points out that "the Molina de Segura City Council is committed to supporting small farmers to give an optimal treatment to pruning remains, avoiding burns and possible sanctions.

In this way, we contribute to improving air quality and our health.

" Vicente thanked the neighborhood associations, Mayors Pedneos and Heredamiento Regante, "who have been involved in this project and, especially, the small farmers, who are facing this transition towards a management More sustainable of these residues ".
