The Minister of Family and Equal Opportunities, Violante Thomas, visited the Day Center of the Association of Relatives and Mentally Ill of Molina (AFESMO) and the Day Center of the Association of Physically Handicapped Molina de Segura and Vega Media ( ism).
After the visit, he recalled that the Council is this year more than 1.6 million euros to serve 132 people with mental illness and 22 with physical disabilities in this county.
Of this amount, 1,482,000 euros are allocated to AFESMO and 132,318 euros ism.
The Community is working to expand the number of places and support services to people with disabilities and their families in order to obtain the highest quality of service.
At the beginning of 2016 it had 3,651 seats and between April and May, have added 228 new, reaching 3,879.
Violante Thomas stressed that "in this line of work, the Ministry has increased by five places sheltered housing for people with mental illness AFESMO. There are now 42 people who have reached a sufficient degree of independence, but not complete, they can live alone with monitoring and support by the team of this service, which allows them to achieve full social integration. "
The Minister was interested in the work carried out by people with mental illness in occupational workshops, such as the Day AFESMO center, which has 90 seats.
In the center provides specialized care aimed at maintaining the capabilities and the prevention of deterioration and the continuous improvement of functional and social autonomy.
To do this, combine rehabilitation, occupational and recreational, performing in a group, with the aim of "improving the quality of life of the whole family," said the minister.
Meanwhile, the Day Centre ism has 10 seats and the Early Childhood Center offers 12 places for children in the municipality.
