The Department of Social Welfare of the City of Molina de Segura has organized a meeting addressed to all clubs Elderly of the municipality, which took place on Monday 6 June, at 11.00, in the Centro Las Balsas.
The ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Molina de Segura, Esther Clavero Look, and the Councillor for Social Welfare, Angel Navarro Garcia.
As explained by the mayor, "the City Council intend to start a new career with the group of elderly in our town, with the aim of closer and closer to citizens, with a new, closer and more participatory style of service".
The group of people over age 60 reached the figure of 12,000 people in Molina de Segura.
"They, women and older men, who have taught us with his effort to walk through life and purpose of this council is to have them present as active protagonists of social life," says Alderman of Social Welfare.
"We want to be a tool support all clubs in their administrative, organizational and volunteer management, and provide an information and advice that will answer all those approaches that make us, with personalized attention," adds Navarro.
"To this end, we must make an effort from this Department in the revitalization of existing clubs, according to two realities, the individual and the group, directing the effort to promote independence and autonomy, strengthening the maintenance of functional abilities, acting in the preventive, supporting the creation of autonomous groups of activity, and ultimately, promoting the enjoyment of life. "
