The City of Molina de Segura launches new initiatives to increase transparency in municipal management (23/06/2016)

The Deputy Mayor and Councillor for Transparency and ICT the City of Molina de Segura, Fernando Miñana Hurtado, has announced the launch of actions, such as live broadcasts of plenary sessions and online publication of information in formats open, which are included in the new Ordinance on Transparency, access to Public Information and Reuse, scheduled to be adopted at the regular plenary session to be held on Monday, June 27.

The City Council broadcast live the plenary session through the city's website www.molinadesegura.es, which will also be followed live through Channel 8 TV.

The broadcast will be made through the REPLAY project, which manages the Integra Foundation, in coordination with the Directorate General Simplification of Business Activity and the Digital Economy, under the CTNet project that facilitates the transmission, live or deferred and within transparency initiatives, all ordinary or extraordinary municipal plenary to be held.

To ensure good quality picture and broadcast without cuts or manipulations, the full recording will be made with 3 HD digital video cameras and a live production.

The other new action involves the publication of information in open formats (Open Data) through http://datosabiertos.regiondemurcia.es/ website run by the Integra Foundation, the Autonomous Community of Murcia has made public recently, the City Council is attached and which to date has published 48 data sets, cataloged by subject for easy search.

Among the benefits of open data is increasing transparency and accountability, promoting the active participation of citizens, equality in access to information or the generation of economic activity.

The City plans to further expand its catalog of open data and provide all public information of interest, always accessible and available in publicly recognized formats and free to use.

The new actions implemented have not alleged any economic cost, being tools and applications available to the City Council through the signing of the corresponding agreements with the Regional Administration.
