The City of Molina de Segura signed an annex to the agreement with the Cultural Association La Cruz de La Torrealta for the development of events around the Via Crucis Vivente (13/07/2016)

The signing of an annex to the collaboration agreement between the City of Molina de Segura and Cultural Association La Cruz de La Torrealta for the development of acts and Holy Week processions took place on Wednesday 13 July, in the molinense consistory .

They have attended the Mayor of the town, Esther Clavero Look, the President of the Cultural Association La Cruz, Pedro Aguilar Oliva, and Councilman Festivals Local Festivals, Andres Martinez Cervantes.

The purpose of this annex is to grant aid amounting to 6,000 euros Cultural Association La Cruz de La Torrealta Molina, which aims to meet expenses of representation of the Via Crucis Living, it organized every year by the association.

In the City Council Budget for the financial year 2016 and it included a budget for this purpose, and the Local Government Board held on March 10 agreed to allocate the amount of 2,000 euros to finance acts and Holy Week processions.

The agreement was approved in Ordinary Session of Local Government on 18 March 2016. But in the municipal plenary session on 9 March 2016 a modification of credit was approved by supplement extraordinary credit for the same purpose amounting 6,000 euros, an amount that is collected in this Annex.

"The intention of this council is to cooperate in the development of the events and processions of Holy Week, applying inter alia, subsidies or financial aid, to promote ingrained cultural activities in our town, as is the representation of the Via Crucis Living La Torrealta and acts around it organizes Cultural Association La Cruz, "explains the Mayor, Esther Clavero.

The Way of the Cross is represented on Holy Wednesday since 1998, in a second stage, by the Cultural Association La Cruz de La Torrealta, as its origins date back to 1982, when the parish priest Jose Moreno, in order to attract young people to the parish, devised this unique Via Crucis, unique in the region of Murcia.

In addition, throughout the day of Holy Wednesday, other activities in the village of La Torrealta, such as installation of Medieval Market Guadalabiad souk, the traditional Top Road, and the Parade of Moors and Christians develop.
