The University of Murcia (UMU) and the City of Molina de Segura today signed an agreement that aims the participation of students from this educational institution voluntary solidarity projects.
The agreement was presented at the rectory of the University of Murcia by the rector of this, José Orihuela, and the Mayor of Molina de Segura, Esther Clavero, who have referred to the agreement as the first step to enhance cooperation between the two entities.
The agreement includes, among other actions, the support of the UMU students in school support actions in organizing cultural activities or programs of environmental and urban sustainability.
The mayor noted that the agreement also includes collaboration on issues that are betting the Consistory, such as projects for citizen participation, reindustrialization of the town and to promote sport and healthy lifestyles.
For its part, the rector said that the University maintains contacts with the City of Molina de Segura to drive more actions;
"Everything related to the revitalization of the environment is an obligation for the UMU" said Orihuela.
The participation of students in these programs, which give rights to crau credits, will be managed by the Service to Diversity and Student Volunteer of the Vice President, whose owner, Professor Carmen Ferrandiz, attended the presentation ceremony.
The agreement was promoted by Professor Miguel Angel Perez, who remarked during the ceremony the importance of the municipality of Molina de Segura for the University of Murcia.
