October 15 to 16: II National Congress Fragile X (31/08/2016)

Under the title "Fragile X Syndrome: If you see my capabilities, I have no limits," the II Fragile X National Congress, to be held on 15 and 16 October in the MUDEM of Molina de Segura (c / Ibn Arabi, s / n) has been presented this morning at a press conference.

Co-organized by the Association D'Genes, the City of Molina de Segura and the Hospital de Molina, and with the collaboration of the Spanish Federation for Rare Diseases (FEDER) and Murciano Health Service (SMS), this Congress will bring together about 200 assistants among professionals related to Fragile X Syndrome and patients and families, and will be opened by the Minister of Health of the Region of Murcia, Encarna Guillen Navarro.

During the presentation of the same in which was also attended by the Mayor of Molina de Segura, Esther Clavero Look, the National President of FEDER and the Association D'Genes, Juan Carrion Tudela, Councillor of Public Health of the City of Molina de Segura, Esther Sanchez Rodriguez, Coordinator D'Genes Fragile X, Fabián López Aguilar, and the Delegate of ERDF in Murcia, David Sánchez González -, the Managing director of the Hospital de Molina, Pedro Hernandez Jimenez, has reiterated the commitment Hospital Center with the so-called rare diseases, among which is Fragile X Syndrome, and stressed the importance of giving voice: "this Congress will enable health specialists and patients and families exchange knowledge and experiences about the disease, and as expectations of treatment. Fragile X syndrome generates disability in people who suffer so it is essential that together we make it more visible to society, and in this work, FEDER is doing a great job helping to improve the lives of the affected".

Throughout the Congress, the latest research in the treatment of Fragile X Syndrome and new experimental treatments, the pathologies associated with the premutation Fragile X gene, and the program of autonomy and self XFIT, among other issues will be addressed.
