José Cervera presents the book The small corridor and other stories on Thursday 29 September in Molina de Segura (28/09/2016)

The presentation of the book The small corridor and other stories, the writer Jose Cervera, will take place on Thursday, September 29, at 20.00 pm in the Library Salvador García Aguilar (in Chorrico Avenue, No. 44).

Philologist spoke Chema Moreno, the editor of La Fea Bourgeoisie, Fernando Fernández Villa, and Professor of American Literature at the University of Murcia and author's son, Vicente Cervera Salinas.

La Fea Bourgeoisie reissues one of the jewels of the Murcian Literature: The small corridor and other stories, Jose Cervera Thomas, which appeared in 1954 with original cover of Muñoz Barberán and Mariano Baquero Goyanes prologue.

The book consists of fourteen stories, divided into two sections, where the look of pure, intense childhood prevails, but also bitter towards the world around him.

It is a collection of short stories like the one that gives title to the volume, or of the bogeyman, anarchist, Man twisted neck ... leading us by Spain in black and white that still remains in the memory of many readers.

The prologue of this reissue is borne by the son of the author, the renowned poet and professor of American Literature at the University of Murcia, Vicente Cervera Salinas, under the suggestive title the gift you never did, gives his father an emotional tribute .

The issue now throws the Bourgeoisie Fea looks on its cover a photograph of Francisco Ontañón and reproduces inside the original cover that once develop Manuel Muñoz Barberán pen and ink, as well as the prologue of Professor Mariano Baquero.

José Cervera Thomas (El Poblets, Alicante, Murcia 1921, 2015) died a few weeks before I saw the light the reissue of his only book.

He was professor of Secondary Education, in the section of Philosophy, exercising his teaching career at institutes of Jaen, Ciudad Real, Albacete and finally Murcia, where professed from 1970 until his retirement in IES Conde de Floridablanca.

Is the author's son, Vicente Cervera, responsible for introducing and promoting this jewel of the Murcian literature.

Murcia publisher Editions La Fea Bourgeoisie has planted a jujube in the Place del Horno (Cieza) to return to the nature of the resources used in the publication of this work.
