Being Educating City is a commitment that the City of Molina de Segura acquired through its membership of the Association of Educating Cities, approved in the Municipal Plenary held on December 19, 2011, assuming the principles of the Charter of Educating Cities.

According to the Mayoress, Esther Clavero, "educating cities work to ensure that education is a transversal axis of all local politics, education, health, environment, urbanism, mobility, culture, sport, etc."

Molina de Segura adds this attribute to his name and places education as the central axis of his political project, and, as it gets closer to the citizenry, is also the platform to move towards participatory democracy.

It assumes in the first instance the commitment to this model of city, articulating a large local network of public and private educational actors - around the common project of turning the urban space into an educator space, where values and attitudes are transmitted so that people can Develop their skills, live and work with dignity and contribute to the development of their city.

"Citizen participation is the engine of transformation experienced by educating cities, constituting in itself an educational process," says Councilor for Education, Fuensanta Martinez.

"Our municipality is continually involved in educational and educational activities, among which the Safe and Healthy School Path".

This is a multidisciplinary project of the Municipality of Molina de Segura, through the councils of Education, Public Safety, Public Road, Citizen Participation and Mobility, which aims to facilitate students (and those accompanying them) to move to the centers Walking, individually and in groups, in an autonomous, healthy and safe way, contributing to achieve a more sustainable mobility in our municipality.
