The Mayor of Molina de Segura, Esther Clavero Mira, and the Minister of Finance and Public Administration, Andrés Carrillo, today signed a collaboration agreement for the Tax Agency of the Region of Murcia to take charge of management, liquidation, inspection And collection in the executive period of the taxes, public prices and other revenues of public right of municipal ownership.

The Agency shall also exercise, by delegation of the City Council, the powers of management, liquidation, and collection, in a voluntary and executive period, of the Tax on Economic Activities (IAE), and everything related to traffic sanctions.

In order to carry out all these efforts the Tax Agency of the Region of Murcia will open an office in the City of Molina de Segura (which will have a local area), another in one of the urbanizations of the municipality, and also a third itinerant by the Molinean districts .

The costs of the agreement will be offset by the revenues generated and the services provided.

The mayor, Esther Clavero, explained that the objective of this agreement, which is signed with a public administration, is to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of municipal tax management, to the benefit of the citizens of Molina de Segura, in addition to providing greater Transparency in tax collection management.

Clavero said that "it is not a matter of raising more, but of raising well, which can be translated into a better collection."

Clavero added that ultimately seeks to "modernize the administration at the service of the citizen, also in the management of the taxes they pay."

The agreement, which continues to guarantee the splitting and deferral of debts, generates advances in the collection of the City and extends the scope of collection outside the municipality.

The municipality of Molina has a collection fund pending about twenty million euros, which thanks to this agreement can be charged in large part.

The Minister of Finance and Public Administration, Andrés Carrillo, has also signed similar agreements with the mayors of Aguilas and Mazarrón, María del Carmen Moreno Pérez and Alicia Jiménez Hernández, respectively.
