Molina de Segura Town Hall commemorates the 10th anniversary of the Salvador García Aguilar Library with a broad program of activities (23/03/2017)

Monday, March 27 marks the tenth anniversary of the inauguration of the Salvador García Aguilar Library (BSGA) in Molina de Segura.

For this reason, the municipality of Madrid has scheduled a series of commemorative activities, including literary meetings, a commemorative institutional act, visits of educational centers and the realization of activities for children, all organized by the Department of Culture.

The program of activities, launched with the slogan Ten years enlightening you on the inside, was presented at a press conference today Thursday, March 23, by the Mayor of Molina de Segura, Esther Clavero Mira, and the Councilor for Culture, Pedro Jesús Martínez Baños.

The first of the activities, on Monday, March 27, at 8 pm, will be a literary encounter, within the Writers Cycle in its ink 2017, with Santiago Posteguillo, author of historical novels that has published trilogies around Scipio the African And Trajano.

Posteguillo will be invested as an Asteroid of the Very Loyal Order of the Great Meteorite of Molina de Segura.

As stated in the ceremonial, this title makes him "an ambassador of the Order abroad and a guardian for all eternity of the effluvia given off by the Great Meteorite."

The auditorium of the Salvador García Aguilar Library will be presided over on Monday and Tuesday by a replica of the Molina de Segura Meteorite, the largest asteroid fallen in Spain and which precipitated in the hamlet of Campotéjar at dawn on the day of Christmas Eve of 1858.

The writer Marta Zafrilla once gave rise to the legend that the "radiations of the meteorite" are responsible for the fact that in Molina de Segura there is a generation of writers like never before seen in the region.

The original piece is exhibited in the Museum of Natural Sciences of Madrid.

The events commemorating the X Anniversary of the Salvador García Aguilar Library are closed with activities of animation and workshops for children and young people on Wednesday, March 29, from 5 pm to 9 pm outside the library.

A tent will be set up, which will be attended by three monitors, who will be in charge of drawing workshops, ballooning, pincers and a photocall.

10 years of the Salvador García Aguilar Library

The BSGA was inaugurated on March 27, 2007, and bears this name as a tribute to Salvador García Aguilar, Nadal award in 1983 for his novel Rejoice in man and adopted son of Molina de Segura.
